3 D printed Mulching/cutting discs

Thank you for designing such great 3D-printable discs, and above all, for making your design available for free. I really appreciate your generosity and effort, so thank you!

Yarbo makes a fascinating product and I hate to step on their toes but the stock blades were problematic.

This version cuts and mulches well but what I feel is its real strength is it doesn’t clog with debris as easily.

Are you able to tell me what 3D printer you are using? I am way to busy but maybe I can get my daughter interested in making things including this.

I purchased one very similar to this 7 years ago. They have many different models today. They are mid range to expensive but are very good quality.

Others might have other more current suggestions but I don’t have experience with them.

Mostly I would say don’t buy cheap. They don’t last.

I second @laudav1285’s comment about not purchasing cheap. Better to wait until you can afford a good printer.

Prusa is an excellent company with a long history of making great printers and is strongly committed to the Open Source community. Their MK4S has a strong reputation.

I have a Bambu Lab printer which is very nice, BUT they have a closed ecosystem, (worse) after-the-fact make things proprietary, and (inexcusable) have started threatening open source developers even though Bambu Lab uses open source software! :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

I’m saving up to replace my Bambu Lab with a Prusa CORE One.

Printed the insert version in PETG-CF, 50% infill. Going to give it a whirl before reprinting in Nylon. Thanks for your work on this model!

Nylon PA6 or PA12 would be best for these.

Did you still anneal? If you did was there a minimizing of the tunneling affect caused by the CF strands?

It’s interesting to see the significantly clean area above the blade. The air must be pulled up and over the blade and ejected to the sides.

I will try to print using SUNLU EASY NYLON (E-PA) once my H2D is fixed (MC issues currently) and will anneal for 2 hrs in SUNLU E2. Will share the results. here is the link to the filament: Easy Nylon(PA) 3D Printer Filament Bundle Buying - SUNLU Online Store

For those new to 3D printing, not all materials are created equally. Some are harmless, some off gas potentially toxic materials.

Always print in a well ventilated space.
