Add Redraw For Dead Ends

We need to have some sort of editing capability for dead ends.

A redraw function would be great at the very least, but here is my list of dead end related things I think should be in the app.

  • Redraw for already created dead ends
  • Ability to rename a dead end when creating it, so you don’t have to go to “dead end 28” and rename it as a separate operation
  • Editing a dead end, so like editing an area, add to it or remove, this may not be needed if there is a redraw, but for a very long dead end it might be nice to just tweak it
  • DO NOT DELETE PLANS THAT CONTAIN A DELETED DEAD END
this might be the single worst design “choice” that could have been made. I get there is a warning about it, but when you have lots of dead ends in many different plans it becomes cumbersome to track down every where it is used to uncheck it before deleting. If you must unselect it first because of architectural reasons, add in some UI that does the inverse; from a dead end, view all plans that use it and allow us to uncheck it there.
  • Add in a dedicated “test dead end” function. So when you create it allow the user to drive the yarbo some where and then tap a test button so it will run the dead end as it would during a plan. This would help not have to make dummy test plans and go through all the hassle of adding the dead end to it only to find out it doesn’t run as expected and have to delete it and start over

Hi there, thanks for sharing such detailed feedback and suggestions.

We understand the need for further optimization of the Dead End feature, including editing capabilities, easier management, and a more convenient testing process.

I’ve shared your feedback with our team for further consideration. Your detailed explanation of the current workflow and pain points is very helpful for us to better understand how we can improve the user experience.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your suggestions.

Also, dead-ends need a runtime option regarding collisions.
If a collision occurs, it retries the dead end multiple times then gives up.
A switch to enable “consider the dead-end complete if collision occurs” would be great.

x10!
could be a standard path/obstacle detection option too! I’d rather it sit there and wait for me to manually drive it forward 5 feet rather than it go alllllllllll the way back to the dock
