The core relies on the data captured by the 3 exposed antennas to navigate. None seem particularly robust or flexible when it comes to impact. They sit high on the core’s back and are fairly susceptible to impact and breaking. For a tank with power, these antennas stand out for how easily they can be broken.

Has anyone ever added a “roll bar” or some additional “cage” protection? I think it would need to be made out of metal in order to survive a collision with a solid object. But steel might interfere with the reception required.

And if Yarbie is visually confused or set to “gentle collision”, even a gentle collision with a low hanging branch or a high set vehicle’s bumper could make impact that breaks things.

Since it such an important part of the communication toolset, how are these antenna units left so “exposed”?

BTW, mobile phones used to have antennas external to their body. A few added “retractable” antennas. They broke less often and fit better in your pocket. Then BBs and glass slab phones came out with integrated antennas. Strong engineering and consumer benefits made antenna’s “invisible” in most of today’s cell phones. Hope that type of innovation happens to Yarbie.

They have a smaller HaLow antenna now that the inflexible part doesn’t go above the core body. They have flexible RTK mounts now too and the Pro antennas are more robust.

Yes some people have made roll cages, but the one I saw was carbon fiber if I recall correctly. Metal would be bad.

Have not received my Pro antennas, but those “pro-like” from AliExpress feels more durable.
Additionally I’ve mounted the flexible high-mounts and they definitely work.
However, not sure if they would survive if the low hanging branch would be barely higher than Yarbo core. Wouldn’t then it completely brake off the mount and maybe even antenna base as these mounts are not super flexible (and of course they shouldn’t be as antennas must be quite static and not wobble around)

If too low, it would rip the mount off through the bolts and shear the mount cable. We just saw one posted recently like this.

The flexible antennas are a much better idea IMO, the actual RTK antenna is the expensive more breakable part…although I haven’t received my pro antenna to see if those are “better”…still deflecting out of the way is probably the best option all around

I have them and think that they absolutely perform.
I think they bump up my CNR values. I feel it’s been a +3.00
I ran in low 40s and run in mid 40s now.

Anyone’s CNRs break 45+ on the regular?

All statements are unscientific just observational. 🫪

I’ve been in on the preorder and haven’t seen a peep around updates for the pro antennas. Ordered all 3. When did you get yours? Or were you a tester?

I was one of the first to order when they dropped in early May on the website. I got mine in June. @Yarbo-Forum any word on the next batch of Pro antenna orders?

I just had my HaLow aerial snap off when Yarbie glanced off a stack of wood. Grr. This made me think that now would be a good time to get flexible parts. But the image of a flexible aerial doesn’t seem to show a flexible item. How does it get its flexibility?

Is there a flexible HaLow aerial? What is the product number?

If I change the 3 core aerials, do I need to/should I replace those found on the DC? It has 2 aerials.

If this is a standard upgrade where 5 Aerials get replaced at the same time, why not have a single sku in the store that gets all flex parts?

It is flexible. Just a rubber type material that flexes if it comes into contact with something. If by aerial you mean antenna, then I would recommend the RTK Pro antennas. You need at least 2 for the core. Same for the flexible mount. For the HaLow antenna, it is flexible already, but there is a smaller one they are putting on the new cores. I don’t know if that’s been switched out on the accessories store yet or not, but it should be at some point so you could order a spare HaLow antenna and see what you get. The RTK antenna for the DC is optional. If your DC has good CNR values (above 40), then you can roll with what you got. But a Pro RTK antenna for it wouldn’t hurt either way.

Hi there,

Do you mean the **HaLow antenna on the Rover** or the **RTK antenna**?

For the RTK antennas, there are **two antennas on the Rover and one antenna on the Data Center**.

Here are the links for the **standard RTK antenna** [RTK Antenna for Data Center & Rover – Yarbo](https://www.yarbo.com/products/rtk-antenna-for-data-center-rover?_pos=22&_fid=feda31749&_ss=c) and the **RTK antenna PRO** [RTK Antenna Pro for Data Center & Rover – Yarbo](https://www.yarbo.com/products/rtk-antenna-pro-for-data-center-rover?_pos=41&_fid=feda31749&_ss=c). Please note that the antennas themselves are **not flexible**.

The link you shared is for the **flexible RTK antenna mount for the Rover** , which is designed to help reduce antenna damage by allowing the mount to flex when encountering impacts.

For the **HaLow antenna on the Rover** , you can find it here: [HaLow Antenna for Rover | Yarbo Accessories](https://www.yarbo.com/products/halow-antenna-for-rover?_pos=17&_fid=feda31749&_ss=c)

For the **HaLow antenna on the Data Center** , you can find it here: [HaLow Antenna for Data Center – Yarbo](https://www.yarbo.com/products/halow-antenna-for-data-center?_pos=20&_fid=feda31749&_ss=c)

Feel free to choose the parts that best fit your needs, and please let us know if you have any further questions.
