Hi guys,
we have already September and I have not even started building the garage for MrYarbo.
I planed, to use 9 FIBO blocks 250x100x490mm, which give an inner space of roughly 1270x1470mm. Space enough for the Docking Station and MyYarbo with the Lawn Mower.
However, I consider buying coming spring the Trimmer and like to know, whether it has to be mounted RIGHT or LEFT and how much ADDITIONAL space is required.
Otherwise, after struggling getting MrYarbo mowing my 2ha Orchad since summer last year (Software problems) and still a crappy GPS, I convinced MrYarbo in May to do his job and were he was working, the Orchad looks amazing.
Thanks in advance
Michelle
The trimmer hangs off to the right side of the core (as you face the rear of it). The recommended clearance is 7ft all the way around the dock. It’s going to swing the trimmer around a bit, I’d consider giving it a lot of room.
My problem is, that I have not more then 5,4ft (166cm) in width total while the depth can have up to 6ft
Hi Michelle, as Bryan mentioned, the Trimmer is installed on the right side of the Core when viewed from the rear.
For reference, the Trimmer itself measures approximately 74 × 69 × 41 cm. With a total width of only 5.4 ft (166 cm), the space would likely be quite tight once the Trimmer is attached, especially when Yarbo is turning or docking.
It may still physically fit, but I wouldn’t recommend designing the garage with such limited side clearance if you plan to use the Trimmer. The extra room is important for smooth maneuvering and to avoid the Trimmer getting too close to the walls or entrance.
As Yarbo makes its little adjustments to center exactly on the dock, the left and right movements cause the trimmer to swing quite widely.
The Trimmer and Yarbo’s docking behavior caused me to postpone building my Yarbo a garage. I still hope to build one before winter hits though.
OK, do I am not the only one with this problem.
Unfortunately the Trimmer Module is in Europe/Estonia not available yet, otherwise I would have marked the outline of the garage with calk and see, how MrYarbo cope and correct the outline afterwards.
