# Continuing an area map instead of creating new

When creating new areas, utilizing the lines or boundaries of another area instead of creating new. I’ve split the total area into smaller areas and trying to match the lines is impossible and usually leaves tiny areas unmaped or areas doubled. Almost like having a third option when editing areas to just split into two separate areas. This could also help with not needing pathways as there are no boundaries, it could act like a single area just with separate mow schedules.

Using Edit Area to split an Area and **keep both pieces** is coming at some point. They’re going to update that.
Using Edit Area to extend an Area, yeah, kinda tough to line up the lines. Typically I don’t worry about being perfect, and I often use Deadends to do a little cleanup of anything I’ve missed. Others may want to be more exacting, sure. No suggestion other than to use the little arrow on the front of the rover and line it up with your existing border line…and cross your fingers! 🙂
