Display area size and possible estimated mow time when creating new areas.

Thank you for your suggestion! Just to clarify—are you hoping to see the area size and estimated mowing time while you’re still in the process of drawing the work area? If the area hasn’t been finalized, it may be difficult to provide accurate data at that stage.

We’d appreciate it if you could share a bit more detail about how you’d like this feature to work, so we can better understand and pass it along to our product team.

I believe they are asking for this to be shown in the map directly after creation. In other words you could tap an area in the map and it would display the area size and estimated mowing time. It should display this at any time.

Just some kind of estimated time and the square footage while still in the area mapping. I’m currently taking care of approximately 3 acres. When i mapped out the entire area as a whole it was almost 90,000 feet square, so breaking it up into more manageable areas what i thought was equal was not because i couldn’t see anything until I’m done and try to start a mow.

Thank you for providing the clarification. We understand the need for estimated time and area size during the mapping process. Since area settings can impact time estimates, there are several factors we need to consider regarding the feasibility of this feature. We’ll pass your suggestion along to our product team for further review!

Imagine being able to map the whole area then split it into fourths. It’s not a feature but should be in my opinion.

Only if the perimeter can be disabled.
After the perimeter, our biggest timesink is turns. Minimizing them will max out acreage, if that makes any sense.

I agree, if it could actually gradually turn instead of all the pivots, it would be faster and healthier on the lawn.

IIRC there’s been an enhancement request to skip a row or two and do wide, easier turns. I’d be in favor.

One example:

> I have seen this before, but not as an official suggestion. It would be great if, when u-turn mode is turned on for Yarbo, it enabled an alternate way of making a path through the lawn that was a ‘skip and fill’ path. ie. the u-turn doesn’t need to be so tight, it can make a curve, which would leave a gap, then later turns would fill said gap. For example. ie. Repeating pattern of something like: ---------\> (1) ---------\> (5) \<--------- (2) \<--------- (4) \<--------- (6) ---------\> (3) If …

I wonder if that would be faster than mowing backwards? One pass forward, the next pass backwards.

I based some of my mowing with the riding mower on a video by an industrial engineer who worked out an efficient way to mow his yard.

“Turns are a non-value-added activity.” So how do you optimize by reducing turns…and using “continuous turns”?

When you get to around 12 minutes in the video, gee, THAT looks familiar…as in that “U-turn that alters pathing for continuous drive” request…
