Error Please wait until the blades reach the required speed

Found it–thanks. Its off. When the rain stops I’ll try again.

Bryan,

I just replaced my antennas which seemed to cures my navigation problem. Yarbo mowed a work area last night but this morning I am having the same problem some others are reporting. Following is the message I sent to Yarbo.

“I had a problem with navigation which appeared to be solved with new antennas. Yarbo mowed about one acre last night and I awoke to find Yarbo on the charging pad at 100% charge. I told Yarbo to mow another work area this morning and it traveled to the starting spot and stopped, indicating that it was waiting to the blades to get up to speed. It returned to the pad as commanded and I attempted to energize the blades with no luck. I did a restart and I get the blades working fine. Then I sent it again to mow the second work area in which it began fine but after mowing about 10 feet it stopped with the same blade message. It is now on the pad. I cleaned the connector plug and connected. I hope it is a software problem which you can fix through the internet. Thanks for your help.”

They confirmed with me ticket number 120582 and promised to get back to me this afternoon.

We will see.Ken M

When the message “waiting for blades…” is displayed, if you lift the module up and down and the blades engage, this could indicate a faulty wiring harness. Here’s an article on some of the other potential issues and fixes.

I powered down and disconnected battery for about 20 minutes. When I powered back up this is the error message I received.

Try a restart. If that doesn’t clear it, get that added to your ticket.

Bryan,

Good suggestion but no joy. I submitted it to cs.

If it’s a bad harness in the mower it could be a false positive. You could try pulling the battery and installing the SAM. Could also try holding the power button for 60 seconds.

Bryan,

Will try tomorrow. What does the 60 second hold of the power button do?

It resets some hardware limits like resetting a circuit breaker. It should trip again if there truly is a problem.

Yarbo was not able to fix the blade adjusting error remotely and they won’t upgrade me to the Pro mower for the price difference, so I scheduled a return. I’m going to try a different auto-mower.

Bryan,

Thanks for the suggestions but no joy. Yarbo seems to be on top of it and has pushed my problem up to engineering. They told me they would get back to me in a couple of days. Is the power board on the rover or the mower?

The power board is in the rover.

If Yarbo sends me a new power board, is it difficult to install. I am somewhat handy but not an electrical engineer.

The wires from it go a lot of places. If they deem its a bad power board they most likely will ship you a replacement core to save you the headache of trying to dissect the whole unit to replace it.

Thanks

Ken M

This is the kind of thing that concerns me. After the warranty period, how will I get this type of problem fixed.

it doesn’t look very serviceable.

One guy on Facebook fixed it himself. I don’t think it’s a big deal. Pinched wire, just spliced it.

I feel like a power board is going to be a little more challenging to replace.

Maybe a little but still doable. They made the unit to be user serviceable. Most of the time it’s just cutting zip ties and routing wires. There’s a chance you bump something so under warranty and for less angst for the customer they just opt to ship a replacement.

In my opinion that should be an option offered today instead of only shipping units around the country.
