Well, I ordered the Pro + blower package and didnt realize the mower delivery was going to be over a month away, so ordere the M1 mower to use until the pro’s shipped. It will arrive tomorrow.

Have made a couple of rough map areas, just to play and even set up a blower map to sweep the drive.

So the neighbor shows up and is asking all the questions. We played wiht the follow me function. Not too impressed. then had it run an area I had set up. I guess just a security pass. It ran up to an large object in the yard. “Cool let’s watch it navigate it” Nope, Yarbo trys to go over the obstacle and proceeds to flip over onto its back. Taking out one of the antennas.

I’ve had it for five days and it’s broke. I’ve ordered parts.

How long did it take for you to break Yarbo?

I have had mine since December of 24, and have not broken any antennas to this point. Hopefully, I never will.

For security patrols with the SAM, it uses the concept of a pathway and pathways are trusted conduits so to speak. Obstacle avoidance in a pathway is still in beta. What was the obstacle that it didn’t halt for?

Broke one the first day. Received replacement (took a week). Broke a second 3 days later… But I had ordered spares… I cleaned my lawn and drew a few no go zones around low hanging cables or branches I did not want to cut. No break since (about 3 weeks now…)

Those antenna are fragile…

If you flip it just right, you can break all 3 antennas at once.

It has mowed that area many times before without trying to climb the steps.

Two 3D printable options to protect them, or try to anyway:

No signal change with either solution. They’re just plastic and you can choose the filament to print with if you want. The flexible ones need TPU which can be difficult to print and seem to work the best, though the orange stabilizer ones protected very well against some very hard hits (as you can see in the photo).

I broke mine on the first mow under some low hanging pine trees. Largely my fault as I missed these during my no go mapping. I opted for the 3d print as in your first pic. Been happy with them and feel it adds much needed antenna protection. I firmly believe this is a design flaw. Too many people with broken antenna…

Seems if they benefit from being raised, a more robust antenna with a flexible mount would be a good solution.

I always worry about beefing up an area to prevent breakage, just moves the break to another area (like the fender)

Yep, as in this case, I wrote my suggestion on how to prevent the RTK antenna itself from breaking. But let’s wait for Yarbo’s response to the idea.

Rear obstacle avoidance is enabled now if you run a bypass mode other than gentle contact. It should have “some” idea what is behind it now.
