# Loss of GPS and unit location

Wow! Yarbo is so frustrating! I have totally lost all GPS to the unit. It now thinks the unit is about 200’ from its actual location. I have it sitting on the docking station and selected recharge and it was taking off for the highway! I have rebooted the unit, rebooted the Data Center several times. RTK antennas are totally fine with no damage. Nothing has changed since last summer. Used it this winter with snowblower and it worked most of the time although not reliable at all. Mowed portion of the yard with spotty GPS and now it apparently has flaked out in knowing where it is located. Data Center is mounted on top of my roof peak with a clear view of the sky, no obstructions anywhere close. Submitted Tech Support Ticket with little assistance. Anyone want to buy a lightly used Yarbo, I’ll make you an incredible deal!!

Looks like possibly a bad antenna. Swap the left RTK antenna with the right one. Observe if the numbers change. L2 should show satellites, but currently is showing 0. Your quality is poor as well. Tap details on the RTK section, connect to your DC and post the CNR values just to make sure it’s not an issue there.

Any ideas why an antenna would go bad when its just been sitting on the docking station the last few weeks?

My guess is it bumped something when it was mowing or snow blowing. It’s also possible that it just failed due to water infiltration or an electronic component inside going bad. There is circuitry inside them.

Yes it is and I think that might be part of your issue as well. 36 is the minimum. 40 Is where you want most of those constellations to be at. Is there any obstructions near by? If not, might be a bad antenna or going bad on the DC too.

I’m wondering if it was moisture because the cameras had a bunch of condensation in them as well!

They shouldn’t, but sometimes they can fog on the outside or have water on the outside. That should be temporary though.

No obstructions. It’s on my roof peak of my garage and no trees or anything anywhere close. Maybe this explains why I had the snowblower running randomly into the yard this winter

Yes it would explain it. Because it would be switching to dead reckoning (PPVS) and that only works for a certain distance reliably. Any track slippage or slopes and it loses accuracy quickly.

I would update your ticket with the screenshots from this post and a screenshot of the smart vision and a photo of the outside of the camera. Include a photo of your DC location and dock location. That should help expedite your ticket. Request new RTK antennas for the core and DC and a camera module for whichever one has moisture. You can drop your ticket number here and the forum moderator can follow up on it when they are back from the weekend.

Your DC location looks ideal to me. Completely unobstructed view of the sky.
