Haven’t experienced this issue before. Yarbo went back to charge in the middle of a pan and I get a message that charging is paused due to high battery temp.
I checked the app and temp was 48C; it’s only 27C outside and the docking station is fully shaded by my barn.
Ive let the Yarbo sit but after 15 minutes its only come down 1C.
At this rate Yarbo may be sitting, out of commission for a while.
Was the Yarbo in full sun while working? If so, white vinyl wrap can help keep the battery temp down while it is working.

It really wasn’t in the sun, as yesterday was one of the cooler days we’ve had in awhile. I ran Yarbo in 90 degree heat last week with no problems, but yesterday was low 80.
For what it’s worth, it’s 80F here now and the battery is sitting at 33C.
I’ll keep an eye on it, and if it keeps being problematic look into temperature control.
I really can’t just run Yarbo early morning or night as the yard is too large for him to keep up on limited hours.
Were you using the leaf blower by chance or was it the mower? Were you mowing thicker grass than usual?
I only have the mower Pro, no other attachments yet.
Grass wasnt tall at all. I cut to 2.8 inches and it was no higher than 3" when mowing.
Then that seems a little odd. Definitely keep an eye on it.
Ya its at 50 sitting on the charger right now. Its done mowing for today but there’s no sun hitting the robot or charging pad, so seems a little odd. I may have to look into some thermal tape, see if it helps.
The problem is not while it is mowing. When it goes to charge the mower is sitting still. The battery temp will increase while sitting once it hits 50C it stops and has to lower the temp to 45C to start charging again. To get to that temp mine doesn’t get to 45C until between 6 and 8 hours. This is not in the sun the whole time and sometimes takes from 3pm to 11pm to start charging again. Not sure of how much amp the charger is thwing at it, but feel reducing the current output it would help. May have to try the wired charger on the unplugged doc and see if it cools faster
They do throttle back charging amps as the battery gets hot, they started that about a year ago-ish.
The best thing you can do is to use a thermal layer between the battery and battery cover and or wrap the battery cover in white vinyl. Then make sure Yarbo is shaded when it is charging. The lower the temp when it starts charging, the better chance you have of it getting to 80% before it gets throttled. It’s a graduated throttle that increases as the temp increases and completely stops at 51C.
I’d just like to be one more to say I just wrapped my battery cover in white vinyl and where the temps normally get up to 44-47ish while mowing they peaked at 36-37. I honestly didn’t expect it to be that dramatic.

I also used the dog shade method and man that works remarkably well. No more overheating while charging. I did notice a small drop in L2 coverage but it was only a satellite or two. No functional issues other the shade needs to be set back a bit so that the yarbo doesn’t run into it while trying to dock and charge. I will probably be changing the orientation of the dock so that the shade blocks more sun while in the afternoon.
