Honestly, I haven’t done it in over a month, but if I remember correctly, when I was away from home I could connect to my Yarbo without having to activate the phone’s 4G option via the app, but simply by leaving it connected to my Wi-Fi network. Is this correct or am I remembering incorrectly? Now I can only do it using the 4G connection.I would like to point out that it does not depend on the latest update as I have not yet received the latest firmware.

You should be able to remotely connect to your core via any internet connection available to your phone. If you can’t remotely connect when away from home that probably means your DC doesn’t have internet connectivity to your home router. So in this case you’d either have to connect to the core over Bluetooth (have to be in range) or it’s 4G service (on the core, enable cellular in app) to give the core internet access so that the app can remotely connect to it.

My Yarbo is connected both via wifi and ethernet cable directly to the router and it works great when I’m at home under my internet network but no longer away from home

Generally it’s not recommended to use WiFi on the core but to rely on HaLow. That could be a factor. Look at your HaLow section in the diagnostics and see if it says true or false. If it says false, reboot your data center.

However, that WiFi icon is supposed to indicate how your core is getting to the internet. So it should in theory have internet that way which enables the remote access. If you forget the WiFi network on the core, does it show 4G in the app or HaLow?

Honestly, no. It started working again without me having done anything special.

LOL! This reminds me of when the company I was working for bought the first business computer in our small town. They wouldn’t spring for a hard drive and opted for two floppy disk drives instead. The business was a building supply and lumber establishment. They had a lot of customers that did business on credit. Therefore, there were a ton of invoices generated. When it came time to print statements us took 12 working hours of sitting with the computer swapping out floppy disks. If I remember correctly we had around 75 floppy disks that had to be used to generate statements. Me and the other girl in the office said we were going to boycott if they didn’t spend the money for a hard drive. By the time the next month rolled around we had gotten a hard drive.👍 Yes, I know. I’m showing my age.

When the computer would freeze up tech support, such as it was, would tell us to unplug the computer, wait at least 60 seconds and plug it back in and do a “cold boot.” Then you went through the normal process of booting up the computer. You were back in business.

I thought this was the most ridiculous solution especially since the computer was so expensive. I told tech support it was the same thing as having an expensive luxury vehicle. And when something goes wrong with it the SOP is to pull off the road onto the shoulder. Then turn off the engine. Wait 60 seconds and then crank the vehicle. Voila! The problem is fixed and you can continue driving. Of course, this would be totally unacceptable for a car owner that had paid a premium price for a luxury vehicle. But…. because it is an expensive computer and not an expensive vehicle we are just expected to accept that this situation WILL HAPPEN. And this is the fix. And you just learned to live with the occasional problem. 😛🧐😜🤪😛😝😜🤪 😜🤪🤔🙄

So I suppose the Yarbo falls into this same category!!! LOL

It is just a computer with software. Lots of complex algorithms and code. One thing goes sideways and you end up with a memory leak or unexpected variable input. The best way to fix stuff like that is a cold boot. I just had to do it to my phone today. Apple is a trillion dollar company and I still had to cold boot my iPhone. It’s very rare mind you, but does happen.
