Rocer WiFi: Connect or Disconnect?

I’ve read & received (from Yarbo reps) discrepancies related to if the Rover WiFi internet connection should or should NOT remain connected at all times. Disconnecting WiFi makes sense after initial setup to prevent “toggling” between Halow & 4G & WiFi, but Yarbo reps have encouraged KEEPING the WiFi connection live as the Core is designed to use a pecking order order of preference based upon what signal is strongest.

This recommendation came about during discussions related to “Yarbo May Be Stuck” errors while the unit is searching for stronger Halow, 4G, or GPS, especially under tree canopies and OTA updates, and while minimizing 4G Smart Vision view restrictions to move the unit to a better signal area.

Can anyone confirm the BEST standard operating procedure related to Rover WiFi?

Thanks!

I tried WiFi at first but ran into too many issues where it was switching back and forth, same with Bluetooth.

I do not recommend it for most people unless you are having HaLow issues.

If your WiFi connection is stable and can provide coverage across your entire working area, it is okay to keep Rover WiFi enabled.

However, if your WiFi signal is unstable or you notice connection switching between WiFi, HaLow, and 4G causing unexpected behavior, you can follow the suggestion from others and turn off Rover WiFi to allow a more consistent connection experience.

The best setup depends on your specific environment and signal conditions.

HaLow and no WiFi to the core is what you want. HaLow is designed for longer transmission distances. Also, Yarbo seems to have handoff issues transitioning off WiFi. Handoff between HaLow and Cellular is the most reliable.
