# Skip a range of angles - critical on slopes with no flat landing zones

In the last couple of mowings, Yarbo has been ripping up some of the slopes (track slippage) in my lawn. As it mowed the areas previously, I suspect this is due to the angle of travel.
I want to vary the angle used but exclude angles that are too perpendicular to the slope.

Would Diamond or Checkerboard work here? These have pre-defined rotation angles, and maybe with the right Route Angle you can limit the perpendicularness (because that’s a real word).

How steep are your slopes? If over 30 degrees, Yarbo can slip due to moisture in the grass, more slippery grass types, and other factors, including tread wear.

I have not actually measured them. The issue occurs when the unit traves down the slope perpendicularly, then while still on the slope, attempts to reverse direction. (Mower module facing down ). It’s worked before with damp grass. The only thing I see different, is the angle of travel relative to the slope.
One other note: it does not seem the unit ever tries to move left or right when attempting to get unstuck.

As Ken mentioned, you can try adjusting the route angle in the Area Settings to change the mowing direction. This can help reduce track slippage by avoiding angles that are too perpendicular to the slope.
