If you have another device, use the cameras on your other Yarbo to watch you navigate the one that is having GPS issues back to the dock. If no second device (don’t forget about Yarbo sharing to a friend temporarily) then go find it with the working one and at least get an idea of what you need to do to get it out more into the open so hopefully it can recover GPS.

They are in different locations, 650 km apart

Hi there, do you have a support ticket for this issue?

Before we continue with any further diagnosis, we may first need your help to bring the Yarbo back to the docking station so it can be charged safely. If needed, you can temporarily share your Yarbo access with a friend or neighbor to help retrieve it.

Once it is safely back at the dock, we can better investigate the issues.

A other update internet lag appears to be playing a role in these issues. I was able to find a solid wifi connection and connect to yarbo #1.

It was indeed very in my neighbour’s yard (and knocked a bunch of sh\*t over; im going to owe a lot of wine for this one!). I was able to navigate it back to the charging pad.
What ive noticed is that the logic to allow yarbo to execute a work plan based on rtk signal strength appears to be in the app, not in the rover. With a strong wifi connection it shows full gps, etc. On a weak connection it shows no rtk, no halow, no smart vision, and won’t execute a woek plan.

2 questions from this:

Does this assessment seem correct to those of you on the know?

Has was yarbo allowed to leave the map and romp off into my neighbour’s yard (not a meter or two, twenty meters or so)?

So, yarbo #1’s issues appear to be mostly related to the wifi signal strength of the app. Good to know.

Yarbo 2 is still showing the right mower motor error, even with strong wifi signal here. From that i am assuming it is not a flash flag, and must have somehow picked something up (it is not on a schedule). Hopefully i can get someone out to inspect the mower soon.

Thanks for the support and help so far everyone.
@Yarbo-Forum it doesnt seem like a ticket is required here, the community got me through!

Ok, another new problem..

I moved yarbo 2 off the charger to see if I could clear the blocked motor

Now the gps/map is way off, and I cant put it back on the charger. I’ve positioned it on the pad as best I can using smart vision but it won’t let me start charging. Can fix map drift unless its on the pad.

Forget my previous question about if internet lag can cause problems, I guarantee it does.

Any help for this one?

The app will give false readings if it can’t connect to the core. However everything the app does is stored on the core. Most likely what happens was it lost GPS and PPVS allowed it to wander that far. If you have that cranked up, I’d back it down.

You’re probably going to need someone to help you line it up between the yellow lines and start charging so you can correct it for map drift. You could try a restart of the core. Sometimes that helps.

Well, this is promising. Swapped out the right side RTK antenna from the core with the one on the DC, moved the one on core left over to the right, and put the one from the DC on the left of the core. DC CNR improved significantly and core GPS seems fine.

I’ve actually never seen CNR values over 40 since I started. Raining today so I’m not running a job, but I drove the robot around the backyard a bit and the signal was solid. Fingers crossed.

So ppvs allows it to go outside of the map boundary?

It can because it is relying only on dead reckoning when GPS is poor or non-existent. Currently the Dead Reckoning is IMU and wheel odometry based and those can lose precision very quickly on slopes or with track slippage. It also loses precision with time and distance traveled. So if it doesn’t know where it is (poor GPS) then it can find itself out of bounds pretty easily.

Yarbo #1 is now throwing me errors saying its outside of the map, when it is clearly within the work zone (confirmed with smart vision). Also got one when it was about a meter from the charging pad

Again, I got none of these errors previously. These have all started popping up since the firmware/app update, which coincided with when I left the country.
Also notice in the scrrenshots below that it is indicating 0% complete, when it is clearly in the middle of a work plan.

@Yarbo-Forum I take it back, ill be submitting tickets for both yarbo units.

Its pretty embarrassing and humiliating to have to ask someone to go help your fancy new autonomous robot because it cant even get back to its charging pad. Not to mention terrible advertising for yarbo.

Is there any way to know if it is aligned on the pad, other than the move it a bit → see if it will charge → move it a bit cycle?

@Yarbo-Forum can we not have a real time aligent indicator on the app? Surely that cant be too difficult to implent, and would be a massive help

Im almost to the point if just shutting both units down until im back, which feels like defeat.

Hi there, and we’re really sorry for the inconvenience you’ve experienced.

Please feel free to submit tickets for both issues so our team can investigate them further and help determine the root cause.

As for your suggestion about a real-time alignment indicator, we completely understand why that would be helpful, especially in situations where the rover needs to be manually repositioned on the charging pad. While this may not currently be a high-priority item on our development roadmap, we do recognize the value of the idea. If we see more users expressing interest in this feature, I’d be happy to help pass the feedback along to our product team for consideration.
