What happens to the returned tracks?

I am going through a replacement and I started to wonder, what happens to the old core’s tracks. They’ve seen a lot of use, do they get trashed, recycled or somehow end up on a refurb?

My guess is recycled or trashed. I am fairly confident they put new tracks on the refurbs.

We evaluate the condition of each returned track. If it is still in good condition and meets our reuse standards, it will be thoroughly cleaned and may be reused. If it no longer meets our quality standards, it will be retired and disposed of accordingly.

For your case, based on the amount of use you described, the tracks would most likely be retired rather than reused.

If they’re just going to be trashed, it would seem to make more sense for the OP to remove and keep them as spares.

That was sort of the genesis of my question. If they are just going to get trashed could I keep them? I understand if the answer is “no”, but just figured if there was a way to keep them out of the landfill.

Ask in your ticket. Worse they can say is no.

From my personal experience they will always say ok. In that way I have gathered lots of spare parts for the things what usually fail

Not pertaining to tracks but i had a mower pro core that got replaced. When i was switching from the razor blade to the straight blade a bolt snapped in the hub. I thought i was going to have to drill out the small screw in the hub and then it dawned on me, i still have parts core that hasn’t got sent back yet. Swapped hubs, put a note in the box stating that i was going to keep my old straight blades for my trouble. Issue was never brought up so i think they are pretty reasonable about things like that.

Now that is some quality advice. I didn’t think to do that. Darn! When I sent back my original core I could have probably scavenged some items, like the tracks.

Yeah I kept the used blades and razor discs when I swapped my mower Pro, I doubt they would want to give used blades out and they’re perfectly usable for me to have a spare pair to resharpen and swap quicker rather than needing to do the whole operation at once:grin:

I kept a few consumable items when my core and snowblower were replaced too.
