I know most everyone has moved on to mowing grass at this point, still dealing with snow up here!
I noticed there is now a “Cleaning Mode” option in the area settings, but I can’t find anything to explain what it does, or if/how to configure it. It seems to me like I should be able to set two configurations for each area, and quickly switch between modes. But I don’t see any way to set these? Any changes I make are reflected in both settings. Has anybody set these up and can provide some guidance? Or am I offside on what these settings do? TIA for any input.
Also, thanks to my southern friends on here for sorting out any mowing glitches! Looking forward to switching modules soon!
I think it’s a new feature (that came after winter basically ended) one thing to add to this question is “what about type of snow”. >2 inches of powder is way different than <2 inches of wet snow. Would be good if yarbo also added a type of snow toggle to help refine this cleaning feature
That’s precisely how I was hoping it would work.
Interesting. So what exactly happens when you choose one of the two options? Is it like presetting the drive speed, auger speed, etc?
Flipping between them, none of the settings seem to change.
I tried:
- Select heavy snow, set and save
- Exit the area settings
- Go back in, select light snow and save different settings
- Exit the area settings
- Go back in and switch between them; whatever the light snow settings were are set in both options
I dont see anywhere else to save different configurations.
All this does is change the turning behavior. For light snow, it stops the reverse before turning (if I recall correctly). @Yarbo-Forum please correct me if I am wrong. I remember reading it somewhere, but I cannot find where it was posted.
I don’t even know what to say about this.
Seems to me that maybe Yarbo should utilize someone in the US to review the proposed feature names and wording before each release. I wonder if they have any UX folks in the US.
Hi there, thanks for bringing this up — totally understand the confusion here.
Under Heavy Snow mode, the snow blower follows the original turning logic: it will reverse first and then turn. This is designed to help reduce slipping when turning in thicker snow conditions.
Under Light Snow mode, the reversing step before turning is removed, so it will turn directly without backing up, which helps improve overall cleaning efficiency when the snow is lighter.
Hope this helps clarify the difference between the two modes.
