Finally, snow is on the way

FINALLY getting some decent snow over the next few days. Stupid me waited until today to map the driveway while it’s a few degrees outside. I wasn’t mapping because of the car in the driveway. Well, I decided to move the car to see how Yarbo does without the worry of damaging the car.

I’m sure I’ll need to make adjustments and will not be posting my initial mapping here so I can save face should it all go horribly wrong. :expressionless_face:

I have mine set up like this, no go zone blocking off the whole corner where the vehicle is, then when we’re gone I’ll turn off the NGZ and clean the whole driveway

Hey. That’s a great idea. I mapped mine so it is 2 different work areas. But a single NGZ would give me a usable parking spot. Going to have to change that after it stops snowing.

You can drop a template NGZ at any time. Just need to make sure it covers your parking spot. Also know that it will not throw snow into a NGZ, at least it shouldn’t. So if your snow throw zone is behind it, it’s going to throw into the area or forward when it gets to the NGZ.

I appreciate those knowledge-nuggests.

I appreciate Yarbo coming with a controller and that it works well because I was able to easily use that to clear the driveway, front walkway, back patio, and the boulders at the street. So far we’ve gotten about 5” and I’ve done one clearing.

My programming did not work out all that well, Yarbo seemed confused in a few spots and at one point cleaned the pathway back to the dock then threw rocks at the house (yeah, 100% on me and the reason I watched it with my finger on the stop switch). I clearly don’t have the correct layout for my situation and yeah…that dock really has to move.

I have a lot more learning to do with the snow blower and an optimal design. Because we don’t get regular snow storms, I think I’ll have to have dry practice runs to work through my issues before we get snow again. For now, the controller is awesome. I can stand in my heated garage and drive it around without issue.

LOL. Welcome to the club. That’s exactly where I started out my first run. It gets easier. Glad it’s working for you!!! It’s more fun to do it yourself anyway. But just wait until net time when you can sit back, put your feet up with your favorite and just watch it do its thing.

Enjoy!!

I brought Yarbo in to warm up a bit. He’s been working all day with zero issues other than trying to deal with my poor mapping. While Yarbo was charging, I saw some neighbors wrestling their snow blowers while getting pelted with freezing rain. One neighbors machine was shutting down on him because he was going pretty fast, presumably, trying to get back inside. Another had to use his knee to help push the machine as it kept losing traction. They looked miserable. Meanwhile, I’m in my warm garage driving Yarbo around enjoying myself.

Well. That’s the best story I’ve heard all year!!!

If you find yourself feeling bad for your neighbours, just take Yarbo out for a few laps. You will get over it!!!:rofl::rofl:

Congratulations. Welcome to your new addiction.
