Tips for using Yarbo in a snowstorm

Dear Yarbo Family,

We hope this message finds you safe and warm as a strong winter storm approaches the US, set to impact the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic with heavy snow and icy conditions. With temperatures expected to be among the coldest since 2011, we want to remind you to stay cozy inside while your Yarbo handles the snow clearing job. We highly recommend starting your Yarbo as soon as the snow begins to fall. The sooner you activate your Yarbo, the better result you will get.

We understand that these extreme conditions can be challenging, and we’re here to help ensure your Yarbo performs at its best. To support you during this winter storm, here are some important tips to keep your snowblower running smoothly:

Regular Maintenance Tips:

Press the emergency stop button, use the scraper blade to clear the snow build-up on the RTK antennas and the auger. Keeping them free of ice and snow will help maintain smooth operation throughout the storm.

To optimize snowblowing performance during heavy tasks, we recommend removing part or all of the protection fence on the snowblower module. This will allow for more efficient snow clearing, especially in challenging conditions. Here’s how to do it: Unscrew the three screws on each side of the fence. Once that’s done, detach the lower bars by unscrewing them from the inside.

Apply the ceramic coating to the chute and auger to reduce snow sticking, especially when dealing with wet or dense snow. This improves performance and helps maintain smoother operation during tough conditions. (Note: please don’t apply the coating to the rtk antennas of the rover, as this may affect the GPS signal)

:warning: Key Error Codes to Watch for During Snowstorm Operations:

Auger Overcurrent Errors:

OA001/OA002/OA003: Auger may be frozen or obstructed. Action: Inspect for ice or debris. If clear, press “Clear Error” in the controller.

Tip: Start Yarbo early, as soon as the snow begins to fall, to prevent auger overcurrent and ensure smooth snow clearing performance.

Chute Overcurrent Errors:

OC001/OC002/OC003: Snow chute may be frozen or blocked. Action: Check for any blockages. If clear, click “Clear Error” on the controller.

Deflector Overcurrent Errors:

OD001/OD002/OD003: Deflector may be frozen or obstructed. Action: Check for any blockages. If clear, click “Clear Error” on the controller.

:light_bulb: Important Reminder:
