Transit path offset

Mowing Offset jumps out at me.

Glad to see some helpful community members have already jumped in on this

When Transit Path Offset is enabled, Yarbo will adjust its routes within the area based on the range offset and step offset you’ve set. This helps distribute the travel paths instead of repeating the exact same lines each time.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

I’m still a little confused. I originally assumed “transit path” was for the paths Yarbo takes from one area to another, that often get over worked. But if this is really the zigzag inside the areas, I’m not sure why a maximum of 78" makes sense. Surely once you’ve reached a Yarbo’s width or so, the pattern repeats again.

Has anyone played with these values enough to have a suggested value for them? Since I don’t fully understand them, mine are all at the default for now.

That was my first assumption as well and it would make a lot of sense. No I don’t think anyone has played with this long enough to know if it will make a difference or not or if it should need to be improved.

I apologize for the confusion in my previous response. The transit path offset actually applies to the paths Yarbo takes from one area to another (excluding the pathways you draw). For example, if you set the range offset to 2 meters, Yarbo will adjust its path by extending 2 meters on both sides. If you set the range offset to 2 meters and the step offset to 0.5 meters, Yarbo will switch between a total of 8 different routes during each travel.

Would be really good to see some documentation and graphics on all these new features. Clearly there is a lot of confusion over them.

+1

If this is the case, this new option is very useful but is displayed like an exposed software variable. A simple value from 1ft to maybe 25ft that allows Yarbo to choose a slightly different path each time would seem sufficient.

In fact, one could argue that as long as Yarbo is within an area, Yarbo could choose any random path offset and not need us to select one :person_shrugging:t2:

This is the implementation I was hoping for but I will take whatever we can get.

It could also be possible to eliminate the need to position himself in a specific point at the start which he memorises… when he leaves the station he can start working without stopping in various points of the garden, wasting time.

Yes that agonizing over the start points is really damaging especially the way it comes at it with such weird angles.

I think the same thing…especially on slopes

Thank you for your feedback! We will have detailed information and graphics available soon to help clarify these new features.

Sounds like it’s as I originally suspected. It shifts in the paths INSIDE the active area as it moves between NGZs or to finish incomplete sections. Pathways between areas have their own offset settings.
