Ok. Iāll bite. Whatcha building??
Going to line the S1 chute and maybe the deflector with UHMW to prevent the freezing of the slush that will most likely be coming in the next few weeks. I saw even the more economy minded companies are doing it:
Clever idea, fortunately I know youāll keep us all updated on how well itās doing.
Ok. Thatās very interesting. Canāt say I ever thought of that!
My thought had been to try this stuff, but I never got around to applying it to Yarbo.
We were discussing in the weekly discord User Insights Chat last night that ceramic coating with rainx sprayed on top was working pretty well for wet stuff.
Gemini had a good idea to use heat shrink on truss head bolts to protect the UHMW from ripping/tearing
Curios to see how this works for you.
Plus side is I left the one side long so the snow plume diverter mod can be different too and it should catch all of the snow. Might need a little more support added on the outside but weāll see.
So what does the finished product look like? Iām really curious to see, and hopeful that it works!
On another note, Iām really REALLY tempted to swap the snowblower for the mower module now. Itās like 65° outside today!
Go ahead. Guaranteed to get some more snow that way! ![]()
Do you have a link to the type your are using? I see it comes in a lot of thicknesses, but Iām not familiar with how bendy the material is to fit the chute shape

I had my daughter help get the last bolt in as I pressed it into the chute to get it to form fit. Since it was warm in the house I wanted to make sure it was pressed in there pretty good so when it went outside it didnāt shrink too bad. I picked black so you can hardly tell itās even in there.
That looks great!! Canāt wait to hear how significant of a difference it makes.
Too late for me this year though. Iām probably gonna convert Yarbo to āsummer modeā either today or tomorrow.
Yuck, 33F sleeting/rainingā¦should I send him out now or wait until the temp drops really late tonight?
Send it, I did and it did ok for me. Be a good test for your mod.
Go for it! Hoping to hear good news about your mod!
