I think it would be a lot nicer if videos were taken in horizontal mode. You see more, it’s more relaxing to your brain because you’re not trying to see what’s in the black areas. Just my opinion.
Are you talking about their marketing and other videos or Smart Vision?
Totally agree. Each live stream I’ve been on I bring it up. Shooting nearly any video in vertical orientation is such a poor experience unless maybe it’s a few second clip and specifically meant for quickly viewing on a phone…that’s about it.
It’s actually a bit frustrating to have such a bad viewing experience. The round tables they have sometimes is the same way, it’s vertical orientation of what looks like a screen recording. It’s so bad.
I mentioned it on a recent stream and Ryan tilted the phone during the live and said it didn’t work. I googled and found what I think is the solution and I hope they do the same. I hope they take the feedback that’s been said by multiple people and do a bit of research and testing to have a standard operating procedure prior to going Live that includes getting away from shooting practically anything in vertical orientation.
I heard the excuse that most people watch on their phone. Even if that’s 100% true and literally no one watched from a computer (me), or an iPad (also me) in horizontal orientation….tipping the phone over will give a better experience. Every. Single. Time.
Their marketing department is on point, I’m shocked this hasn’t been corrected yet.
