❄️ Wet Snow Performance Tips: Get the Best from Your Yarbo Snow Blower!

Sorry, I confused you guys. I knew it was either you or him.

No worries. I’m not looking for any credit or anything.

I think it’s awesome that we have so many active people on the forum who are always coming up with great ideas and encouragement!!

It would also be interesting if you could run the auger in reverse occasionally just to make sure it’s not packing in too hard, but Yarbo probably would rather sell the plow blades😅

I will say, the plow is pretty nice. The snow stays up front without piling up inside the S1. I was able to plow my driveway without issue using the controller and after I was done I had zero cleanup with the plow. I’m sure it’s not for everyone but I like having it in our area that’s not getting FEET of snow like some of you guys.

I haven’t yet had any issue with plowing with the auger and the snow getting packed into the auger. I assumed it would happen, but so far it hasn’t.

When I was done plowing, the auger had snow in it, but not jammed in there. I turned the auger on turbo, and it just came out.

I’ve purposely tried to plug up my Greenworks and haven’t been able to. Does removing the diverter on the Yarbo throw random snow everywhere or lower distance? I wanted to try with the auger off but wanted to get it cleared before the wife got home and was running out of time. Gross winter we’ve been having so far, freezing rain tomorrow morning…I want my fluffy lake effect back😅

I gotta be honest removing the diverter never crossed my mind. This winter has been really weird so far. We’ve had a couple fluffy snow falls but most of it has been slush or sleet. Tomorrow they’re calling for 56° and rain.

FIrst thing I removed and never looked back. :joy:

The plastic diverter plate I removed last year. I thought he was referring to removing the entire chute as a joke. I’m not always that bright.

Ok you guys convinced me…but I put it back on…after adjusting it with the portaband:grin:. I didn’t like the little specks/chunks flinging up and to the side, but this works :ok_hand:

Wonder why it couldn’t use some form of weather api and current temp to estimate how the snow would be. Temperatures near freezing would be more likely to be heavier snow and cause it to run turbo. Temperatures below feeezing for a few days would be dryer snow and not be as likely to be heavy.

That would be awesome if it could do that! I’d settle for macros for recommended settings for now, but man if it could automagically figure out the snow type and conditions and adjust accordingly, that would be THE feature. But, local weather API for microclimates would be ideal. Being able to point Yarbo to my local weather station in the back yard.

Yeah being able to link to a local weather station would be needed in some areas. Depending on elevation, proximity to the lake, etc we can have temp swings of ~20F+, some areas windy/drifty, while others stay sunny😁. But that’s not the “norm” for most of the country…you could probably at least have suggested settings that pop up and you agree to, but with the current state of the software I see that at least a couple years out😅. I’ve worked with the visualcrossing API, and lately I’ve been following MyRadar and it seems interesting
