I finally finished my first video of the Yarbo mower, which I have been pretty impressed with overall. My yard has extreme slopes and lots of rocks and obstacles and is the reason I ordered Yarbo a year ago, because I don’t think anything else can mow it! It still has a lot of improvement opportunity as it regularly has trouble areas, maybe Yarbo want to come out and do some extreme testing
I remember that earlier video. I was the one you heard yelling “Remove those grates!” LOL!
I wish we had “heavy” snow like that…your “heavy” is our “light” snow here. The final THREE storms this winter – horrible dense thick garbage sticky slush – I had to clear with the Ariens. After I cleaned up the worst of it, the final storm turned to powder, so I sent Yarbo out to do the final clean-up, and it did fine.
Tip: Use a Sidewalk to pre-clear a spot where the rover tends to get stuck. That’ll give the rover a little room to move, especially at the end of an Area where it wants to turn.
Oh, you can disable the people detection if you don’t need it. It will come back after a reboot.
Good video that’s going to be helpful to folks who’d like to see the snowblower in action!
New video: I’ve not seen much visually about how Yarbo does with slopes – thanks for that.
I know Yarbo has the handling of slopes better on their radar.
I haven’t found the grates to ever interfere. I do get every kind of snow type imaginable. The heavy slushy stuff is of course a problem for Yarbo and every other snowblower, especially if it is the cloggy stuff. Winter or summer, the biggest problem is traction and spinning tracks. It just doesn’t detect that it isn’t moving quick enough. In the snow it will dig in and beach itself, mowing it rips down to dirt trying to reverse uphill and doesn’t stop trying for way too long. It really needs to use accelerometers to know to never reverse uphill, go down or diagonal to a slope.
I wanted to leave the guard on but all it did was push the snow around. I had no choice but to remove them. Go Bills!
Same. I didn’t bother getting the plow because… those grates work exactly as well in CNY, lol.
