I have no idea what the banding is but I don’t think it’s metal. The rest is a semi rigid plastic. It looks durable.

Your belt is different than the one I got with my replacement S1 unit. Mine doesn’t have that banding (ribbing). Interesting.
I am going to wait for the new pulley before I put the new belt on. I don’t want to damage it.

Yea, I really went to know the source of the belt failures. Cause they just came out of nowhere all of a sudden.
Maybe the difference is the reinforcement material is metal on the failed ones vs kevlar or something else on the standard belts. Yeah, the out of nowhere I attribute to someone shipped a wrong part or it was just a bad run of belts from the supplier. I imagine in the grand scheme of things it is probably a small percentage of affected units if either of these things are the case.
Is your front camera acting up? Mine has since the last update. Also it randomly loses the module.
Sounds like your M25 cable might be having connection issues.
It seems a little coincidental that it occurred since the last update but it has also been very cold as well. Maybe some moisture is in a connection. I think I will try drying it out before putting in a ticket.
