When I load the app I’m getting a popup that says “Failed to calculate route. Please ensure the map is drawn according to the guide. (WP005)” My yard has a series of connected / overlapping zones with pathways connecting the one area that’s disconnected. I had to do it that way because trying to do it as one large zone kept failing due to GPS dropouts up next to the house.
What’s this error mean? I couldn’t find anything on the forum or support desk about it and that’s not obvious what’s a problem. Do I need to connect the touching/overlapping zones with a pathway or something?
The error generally means “you can’t get thayuh from heeah.” The Pathway from the Docking Station to Area1 is missing or incomplete, or there’s a Pathway that goes into an overlap of two or more Areas, or a Pathway that has an endpoint too close to the edge of an Area. Basically Yarbo can’t paint a complete navigation to get where it needs to go.
To narrow this down, create a scratch (throw-away) Work Plan. Add Areas to it and Preview until you see the error. You then know which navigation path needs a fix. Usually that’s finding a Pathway that’s not up to snuff. Try re-drawing the Pathway. Still broken, find the next one with an issue. Re-map as needed. Reminder: Don’t start or end a Pathway close to an Area border, and don’t start it or end it in an overlap of multiple Areas.
And just to add to what Ken is saying. When creating the pathways, it is best to go 3ft into each area with it. Pathways have to start and end in areas (they can be open ended). And they cannot start or end in an overlap. Use the 3ft rule there too, go 3ft out of the overlap.
We’ve checked your map from the backend. To resolve this issue, please make sure to create pathways connecting the different areas, even if they have overlapping zones. If the pathways aren’t drawn to connect them, the map will be considered invalid. This means you’ll need to have pathways connecting from the docking station to Area 1, from Area 1 to Area 2, and so on.
If you still encounter this issue after adding the pathways, feel free to reach out, and we’ll be happy to assist you further.
Try driving Yarbo past the first pathway and see if it can route from there. If not drive Yarbo past the next pathway and see if he can route from there.
Using this technique you should be able to isolate the pathway causing the issue.
If you get all the way to the work area and it can’t route you’ll definitely want to open a support ticket.
I agree with team, try to create the path that goes into the area 2-3 ft. I did one path and tried to test later, Yarbo went to the area1 and stopped and did not enter the area1, when I looked at the map, I found the path somehow was short and did not touch the area1. I redraw the path, then it worked.
Hi there, could you please try the suggestions from @ken.w.gregory and @emad1996 first? If that doesn’t resolve the issue, let us know which elements are included in your work plan, and we’ll be happy to help you troubleshoot further.
So I had the same error today on a project that has been used about a dozen times this winter. I regularly change the snow throw directions for the area component due to the wind conditions at the time of launch. Today, I also wanted to lower the auger height since the pack was starting to get a little thick. So the unusual part was that I stopped the task a few moments after launching. Yarbie was on his path to the project and patiently waited for new instructions. I updated the height of the area and relaunched the project. That is when i received this error. Hmm. I sent Yarbie back to his charging stand and waited a few minutes. I then sent him back out to the project. This time, no issue. So I think I have a use case that should be tested by Yarbo testers. There may be a bug in there somewhere.
@HoneyTimBer Hi there, thank you for bringing this to our attention and for sharing such a detailed use case. We’ve passed this information along to the relevant team so they can reproduce the scenario and test it further. Your feedback is very helpful in identifying potential edge cases—thanks again for taking the time to report it.
I’m experiencing a similar issue as I try to use the snow blower to clear the sidewalk. I added the sidewalk as its own area, which overlaps the grass area near the street, conceptually splitting the yard outside my property wall in half. It also overlaps the driveway. I started the “pathway” on the driveway where it doesn’t overlap other areas and ended on the sidewalk (I extended the sidewalk area passed the grass so it would’t overlap other areas). I’m still getting WP005 when I try to run a plan including the sidewalk, even if the Yarbo is already in the sidewalk area. The end of the pathway isn’t 3’ from the edges of the sidewalk since the sidewalk itself is less than 3’ wide.
Right now I’m manually controlling the unit, but it’s slow going to make all of the adjustments. is there anything I can do to automate the clearing (remapping isn’t an option as I have 2.5 feet of snow)?
@rappels-par-0k Do you currently have a pathway drawn that connects your sidewalk area to another area or to the docking station? If not, you’ll need to add a pathway to link the sidewalk area with at least one other area. Otherwise, the system will treat the sidewalk area as isolated, which can trigger the WP005 error.
I tried to show it on the screenshot but I know it was a bit unclear. I have a pathway from charger to area 1 (back yard) a second from area 1 to area 2 (driveway) and a third from area 2 to area 3 (sidewalk). Pathway 3 begins > 3 feet from the edge of the driveway and ends >3feet passed the edge of the overlapping area 4 ( yard). My only guess is that it’s unhappy the pathway endpoint is <3 feet from the edges of the sidewalk (because it’s only 3 feet wide). Does that seem plausible? How can I troubleshoot this further? The error isn’t very informative.
