Hi there, thanks for sharing this thoughtful suggestion—really appreciate the detail behind it.
We’ll continue to monitor community feedback and interest around this idea. If more users express similar needs, we’ll definitely bring it to our product team to evaluate its feasibility, as it may involve some complex considerations on the technical side.
What do you need adjustable grass height for? Backyard golf course? I guess if you had a mix of cool season vs warm season grass maybe?
The adjustable blowing directions and deflector settings would be nice, also alternate throw directions/settings if the core needs to traverse in a certain direction but the chute can’t aim at a desired throwing direction, temporary instructions such as deflector all the way down or specific directions. You’d almost have to run a program to detect all possible or most probable paths for charging/return runs, certain pathways, etc. Could be tricky, but we definitely need something.
Oh also if you were able to map out total areas and then just draw in with lines/shapes the sub areas, that could save a lot of time running 1 perimeter area for the whole zone and then running the subsections as desired. I specifically have my yard sectioned off as some areas grow a lot faster, but if I do need to run them all you have to overlap areas and the extra perimeters add extra time and grass wear(not noticeable this first season). There are also certain areas that run better with certain cut patterns and perimeter directions, but you could have an option to have a separate partial perimeter for a subzone or something. This could open up a lot of options but would probably be a fairly major re-write
There are areas in the yard with exposed roots, as well as sections that aren’t very level. Near the lakeshore, the grass also varies in type. I could divide the yard into separate zones like I did last summer, but it’s not very efficient. It increases the mowing time, and the Yarbo ends up making unnecessary turns in smaller areas, which puts extra wear on the lawn.
