Copy zones

It would be useful if zones could be duplicated. Different weather conditions require different settings. For example, in very cold temperatures the snow should be thrown at a low angle, while in milder weather it would be better to throw it at a 45-degree angle. During the first snowfalls, the blower also needs to be set higher because of gravel, whereas with frozen snowbanks it should be set lower.

For this reason, it would be helpful to be able to copy zones so that different presets can be configured for them, allowing work planes to be adapted to different weather conditions as well. When the area is large, modifying zones every time the weather changes becomes quite labor-intensive.

Here was my idea on how to solve for this issue…

I agree with presets but copying zones (Areas) seems very problematic. Users who are doing this manually with overlapping areas are having random problems when the rover perceives its in the wrong area (which is one of several layered areas in the same spot). Being able to quickly set user customized presets and apply those to selectable areas, pathways, sidewalks, etc is a better way to tackle this IMHO. Like a global override. For the wind direction concerns, allow predefined snow throw directions that can be enabled or disabled as part of this preset and is something you define when you setup the area. Toggle on wind direction snow throw areas. You draw a line and define N/S/E/W and then when you hit your preset you specify which wind direction to use.

They mentioned on the Facebook group they have a planned update to address something like this:crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Hi there, thanks for sharing your suggestion.

Duplicating zones may seem helpful, but as others have mentioned, it could potentially cause issues. I’ve also reviewed some of the other feedback in this discussion, and there are alternative approaches that may help address the challenges you described.

I’ll also pass your feedback along to our product team for consideration.
