Impeller kit

Yarbo should consider making this standard in the newer S1’s. An upgrade option would be awesome too.

We need some slush performance vids now!

The worst type of snow. It’s about 31.9 degrees with a layer of water under it. The kit makes it a different machine. The slush video would clog up any snowblower. Sorry for the choppy slush video, but you get the point.

Actually I ran Yarbo through our slush the other day since I hadn’t had a chance to try after modifying the plume diverter, it did temporarily plug up a couple times but always self cleared:ok_hand:, it was pretty warm and sunny though so that could have been a contributor to the success.

The self unplugging is really rare, but I’m glad to hear it. Don’t rely on that! I have been able to remotely unplug mine by driving it into the high snow on the sides of the driveway. It needs the mass to push it out.

Did you remove the “plume diverter”?

I never installed it. In New England we USUALLY get the sticky snow.

Assuming you took the impeller out to put this on? Did you have any issues installing it? Had been considering doing it to mine but was unnerved by getting it all apart and the “wedge shoe” on the impeller blades

I did. The hardest part was finding the screws on sides for the auger. I removed one auger to make it easier to measure.

I’m planning of installing some kind of impeller kit as well. But how did you take off the impeller itself? A couple of pictures/videos or some guide would be awesome.

You don’t happen to have a link to the kit you installed, do you? Was going to just get one off of amazon but since you have one that works, maybe I’d get the same one. Thank you

You do have to mark and cut them regardless of what snowblower you have.

I didn’t take the impeller off the shaft. I removed the whole auger/impeller assembly. Then i removed the augers.

You need to remove the 6mm allen bolt in the drive gear (slacken the belt) and remove the gear. Then on the sides of the bucket you can feel indents where the bolts are. I used a utility knife to cut the yellow sticker and remove the bolts. I guess you can peel off the whole side sticker, but I have some yellow tape that I put over the holes.

Some people install these kits without any disassembly, but YMMV:

I have an Ariens and I plan on installing the impeller kit through the chute. The Yarbo is alot smaller. You MAY be able to do it. Also, the Yarbo impeller seems to be stainless. Good luck drilling that through the chute.
