Live Stream Feedback

@Pete_Michigan_Dealer The demo looks great, but then again, I didn’t doubt the hardware. Yarbo hardware is pretty darn good. They seem to have some manufacturing issues they need to work out (a lot of people with core DOA for example), but if you get a good build, the thing is a tank. This trimmer is no different.

That’s where it ends. You’ll notice he didn’t do an autonomous demo. Well, he did, but for like 10 feet, and in no way a realistic user scenario. From what I could tell, the software is still zero-point turning on the perimeter. You could see Yarbo stop, make an adjustment, then keep going. It never smoothly adjusts its direction. If he had a sharp corner (I think he DID, which is why I believe he stopped it), Yarbo will stop, zero-point turn, swing its ass around, and that trimmer will hit things you didn’t intend on hitting. Most definitely will go out of the boundary.

Unless they are testing software internally that already fixes this, the software he was running was not much more advanced than what we have, plus the controls for the trimmer.

I hope I’m wrong on this. I genuinely hope Yarbo ships Trimmer with a good software update that makes it usable at the boundary. If history says anything about how Yarbo releases its software, it will not work, and likely will not work this season (for real-world use cases).

There was no way I was buying any sight-unseen hardware after I did my Yarbo research. I thought I understood all the limitations of the mower when I bought, until the overheating issues hit. Now I’ve discovered that you can’t mow any closer that about 12” to no-go zones and if you don’t use them It’ll mow right over your edging until it hits whatever is in the middle. That’s not in the documentation anywhere I could find, yet the BS marketing remains unchanged. Using a manual string trimmer for 12” is absurd. How is the Yarbo trimmer handling this when it proports to ship a month from now? I’d love to see some real answers, some honest answers.

Nothing I’ve seen tells me any real progress is going to made this mowing season. I would happily eat my words if something changes.

After watching the live stream I would agree hardware looks great. But I have concerns the software isn’t there. We are close enough to the release date the software should be in the fit and finish stages. I would expect anything within 8" of the right side of the core is game to be cut down inside or out of the boundaries. Bet the posted solution will be to set the boundary setback to 8" before running the trimmer.
