Major winter storm and Yarbo failed me

Unfortunately there are no Ego’s to be had at the moment. Apparently, the company didn’t produce enough so they’re out of stock. Just my luck. I guess I’ll have to cross my fingers and hope the replacement Yarbo snowblower module gets me through this winter. My recommendation to everyone is to always have a backup. My fault for thinking otherwise.

You are better off than I am. Waiting for a belt and pulley to ship for my 1 month old S1. I have spent most of my ownership time waiting for parts for the S1 or core . Yarbo as a whole appears to have almost ZERO sense of urgency in supporting their product after sale. Day 7 since I opened the ticket and the status was “waiting to ship” for the last 5 days; now says “CS_Ticket”; I am assuming they finally read my explanation of why I rated their support “bad” on their aftersale support review. I am really tired of the patronizing “we understand how frustrating this is” and “please be patient while we work through this” responses.
I didn’t pay almost $6000 to be an open beta tester and to also do their warranty repairs for them. I invested in a solution that allows me to handle my snow removal and lawn mowing from a wheelchair.

I totally hear you. I feel the same way. I think we’re all “beta testers” to some extent. I question the build quality as well. As I mentioned before I’m on my second core and now will be on my second snowblower module for a unit that’s a little over a year old. I think support staff have their hands full in dealing with a product with many critical issues. My experience with support has been positive, for the most part. I think they have the lawnmower module well established with few issues. The lawnmower for me has been great so far. I think they need to really look at the snowblower module further because there are so many issues with it. How many times have people had to “rescue” their rover when it got stuck? I’ve done that more times than I can remember, so that kind of negates the autonomous process when I have to put my winter gear out to “rescue” a stuck unit. I’m also not very happy that I spent 6K for “the whole package.” Hopefully, Yarbo will have a fully functioning and RELIABLE snowblower in the future; however, it’s definitely not now.

I am glad to hear of your confidence in the lawn mower. I haven’t had any real issue with operation of the snowblower, just the ridiculously long support turn around times for common parts (that shouldn’t be failing); Yarbo as a company is not particularily good at “reading the room” so to speak. I share the sentiment expressed by several other users that the current round belt and/or pulley failures on the S1 should have resulted in either a recall or advance replacement.
Seeing all the posts about the new firmware issues is causing me to have some anxiety, I am worried that what I had working exactly as I needed it to (right up until the belt and pulley failed) will not perform that same way when I finally get parts and put the unit back in service.
It is costing me $65 every time the plow company clears my driveway and sidewalks. Because we are residential, they clear us AFTER all of their commercial accounts, so my wife and I are driving down an uncleared driveway to get out for work in the morning; this can be a problem for my wife’s prius which doesn’t have a lot of ground clearance. My wife was lamenting the Yarbo not currently working when she left for work yesterday morning.

Yep, it just cost me $150 to get my driveway cleared. I have a 150’ driveway and am in the same boat. I was lucky enough to have someone come out and help. Parts shouldn’t be breaking down like they are especially in new units.

Reminded me that I had to pay landscaping company seasonal rate to blow the leaves when my Yarbo blower didn’t arrive for almost 2 months. They didn’t want to just charge me per blowing session.

I had to pay again last week for skid steer to come in and scrape built up driveway since my Yarbo was down. Once you drive over and compact the snow Yarbo has no chance to remove compacted snow.

I’m really sorry for the frustration this situation has caused. I’ve checked with our logistics team regarding your replacement parts, and the replacement process is now moving forward.

You can expect to receive the tracking number within the next two business days. We appreciate your patience, and we’ll continue to follow up to make sure this is handled as quickly as possible.

Will this be a new or rebuilt unit? I’m also concerned about the auger drive belt issues that others have been experiencing. Thank you.

I’m not sure in your state, but here in Pennsylvania replacing products with warranty with refurbished item is against the law and falls under UTPCPL improper warranties and PA Attorney General’s office goes after the businesses with heavy hands. Why would you be even sending refurbished units as a replacement as a company, that is in itself a whole can of worm.

I’m in NJ and I don’t believe it’s illegal for a manufacturer to provide a refurbished replacement as long as they don’t imply a refurbished unit as new. I thought the law was similar in PA in that a manufacturer can use refurbished parts as replacement under warranty?

Parts- maybe! But whole system - Nope they can’t here in PA, but they do and it goes unnoticed. Now AG office looking for more income stream, they are making it even easier for people to file for complaints. I personally would like to see Yarbo to succeed and don’t make small mistakes. Once you tangled up with AG’s Office in PA system, it’s pretty much over, it gets dragged around.

Do you have a link to that law? My understanding was most U.S. consumer protection rules allow companies to use refurbished units for warranty replacements as long as they tell you. Many warranties explicitly state: “Replacement may be new or refurbished”. If the warranty or return policy includes that language, the company is within its rights to send a refurbished replacement.

My attorney worked on a case for me and that was the verdict, I’m not a lawyer. I’ve googled out of curiosity and there are quite few rulings on it

It should be sited in the court documents then. Would you mind looking it up.

Here is a link of my good friend who is also PA senator is working on right now, but not related to warranty:

If passes as law we might be getting login credentials for our ROS on this Ubuntu

I am of the same mindset. i work long hours and I was hoping the Yarbo would fulfill 90% of my needs. I am stuck with a malfunctioning snowblower and a delay in response time from the company. I have an ego snowblower (electric) and a Ryobi lawn tractor (electric) with attached plows but with the length of my driveways and my hours it is not an ideal to do myself. In addition, it is nice not to have to deal with the elements/ allergies and insects. What they also don’t understand is the bad publicity. The majority of my neighbors as well as the lawn/snow landscaping companies that service the neighborhood stop and take pictures videos of it at work. The gps issues during the summer and the snowblower dying over the winter warrants questions from others and negative publicity. I just purchased a refurbished SB/core to be delivered so I can make sure I have something working. I also planned to be purchase 1 or 2 of the new M20 version for the leaves. But if a company like Mowrator comes up with something better, right now they are only remote control, I would put this experience behind me. Yarbo right now is an expensive toy.

What does right to repair have to do with a warranty replacement? There are hundreds of right to repair cases in the courts right now.

BTW - I played poker with the Crown Prince of Kuwait.

I use Mammotion Luba and, I had never had to mess around with it, not even once during cutting season. It does my 2 out of 7 acres perfectly mowed on schedule and tucks itself away when it’s raining.

RTR does tie into warranty cases. I am sorry if you thought I was bragging about myself or my friend, I didn’t mean to, I did however met every living President of the United States because of my work, there, I said it
