I’ve checked our system and can confirm that the replacement sent to you will be a new unit. Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Thank you. Appreciate that I’m getting a new unit. Also wanted to ask if the auger drive belt on this new unit has the updated belt or should I take the auger belt off the old unit before I send it back as a replacement in case? Thanks.
I had a similar chute/deflector fail at the beginning on this winter season. After sending a few videos, and probably realizing this was a spreading failure, they sent me a new snow blower module. Unfortunately, when I went to remove the blower to service the tracks and such after using through the first snow storm, the snow blower could not be removed due to one of the unlocking levers not engaging/disengaging the posts connecting it to the core unit. I’m still waiting on instructions on how to remove it from the core unit, fingers crossed I can and they can send me a unit that works 100% and can be removed?! But at least it works.
I can say though since this snow blower module is a full year+ newer than my original, there are some part differences. The screws to attach the chute are thicker than the original ‘24 unit I had. I’ve also noticed that the scraping bar on the bottom of the new blower has already started to rust, where my original had not after a full season of use. And I bring it in at night and knock the snow off when not in use. I also noticed that the holes for the grate/plow are already getting widened from plow use, where my old one had not demonstrated that. So I’m wonder if there is a metal/allow change in the newer module?
Also, the back hatch and battery hatch NEED to have rubber gaskets and a screw down to seal! I’ve had ice and snow in both. Those tension clips are USELESS for this type of use. They need to be patterning the design similar to marine designs! and every time I have to remove the battery I pray that the clips aren’t going to break!!
Hi. Sorry to hear of your problems.
Are you saying you are unable to flip the metal module release lever to the upright (disengage) position?
It might help to adjust the module’s height to take weight off of the latching mechanism.
Hope this helps.
