So hear me out. Pathways only apply to mower/blower summer stuff. Make sidewalks required for S1 with same functionality as current pathways. Add a separate dead end sidewalk that works just like the mower dead end but only valid for snowblower. That could solve a lot of our problems hopefully with only minor code base changes? Also would be nice to still have a filtering system based on the tags but…ok converse! ![]()
Maybe, if this idea is implemented, add a way to copy a summer pathway to a winter sidewalk for ease of mapping, not needing to remap all pathways
Kind of a convert item to an item of another type?
No go zone to work area?
Hmmm, IDK about the NGZ conversion thing… I’d have to hear a case story on that:sweat_smile:
, but my copy path idea is just in case someone has long pathways or specific pathways mapped already that they do want to use for both summer and winter they don’t have to remap all of them…for my scenario I wouldn’t mind having to remap them all if we could get the functionality described above. Just trying to think of low hanging fruit/easier ways to accomplish a majority of all of our “needs” for “cheap”/”quick”/”easy”
How about straight lines for a work area. Drop a templated rectangle no go zone and convert it to a work area.
Yeah that could probably be a feature without having to involve specific no-go zone/conversion stuff😁
I prefer creating totally different areas and sidewalks for the different modules in a lot of cases.
Why? Basically because the module sizes are different, as are the use cases for each module.
So while theoretically I could map my driveway once and use that mapped zone for both the snowblower and the leaf blower, I would never do that. The actual portions of my driveway I want to snowblow are not equal to the portions of my driveway I want to leaf blow.
Similarly, I have my lawn areas mapped for grass cutting, but those mapped areas are not always useful for leaf blowing, and are 100% not useful for snowblowing, so why am I looking at them now?
My maps are already super cluttered and difficult to follow due to all the layers needed for all the modules. I would love to clean my map up by allowing me to select which modules a mapped area is applicable to.
The best answer I’ve seen thus far is to save and restore separate maps for each season. At least until they can filter and label everything per module. This is an interesting concept though.
Nailed it.
That’s the route I’m taking. @bryan.wheeler
I’m way too lazy/stubborn to have to reset everything ![]()

, especially since it should be a feature already:zany_face:
100% agree. There is no part of me that wants to delete my warm weather maps and re-do them come Spring.
Yarbo really needs to fix this problem. It’s only going to get worse. They really can’t continue to ignore it. Imagine all the support tickets and phone calls they must be getting due to overlapped areas and such.
While we may not move in this specific direction, we will absolutely take into careful consideration how to make the mapping system easier to manage across different modules.
