Pass through gate for fence

Is yarbo planning on a gate system for yards with fences. I have two large areas with a fence separating the two. One area is were my dogs are and the other is were our chickens are. Currently I am using a hole in the fence for yarbo to pass through. It works great but it also lets my pups out to get themselves in trouble. Like they ever get in trouble. I’m trying to figure out a way to make it work. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate you sharing them with me and the forum. Thanks…

I don’t think it’s currently being worked on but maybe @Yarbo-Forum can confirm.

You could always try using a gate opener and using NFC or some other type of trigger like a pressure switch or magnetic sensor to activate the gate when Yarbo gets close.

You have to train your dogs…

This has happen today (my dogs protect the chicken):

He got caught after successfully killing 8 chicken (one per night)

I have a defense robot (a little bit bigger then MrYarbo) and use an RFID tag to open a special door. Only thing is, the door opener must be fast enough because from detecting to the door is only 5m

Yep! I feel your pain. We have lost several chickens to predators. We now have a chicken Fort Knox. But there’s always a chink in the armor. The reason I keep the dogs away from that side of the yard is there are things over there that could poison them or harm them. My dogs mean everything to me. Maybe I’m over protective but a lifetime of mistakes with dogs tell me to do this. I love my babies.

I tried making swinging gates like the ones in the old western saloons but the obstacle avoidance system stopped the yarbo. I also thought about something that yarbo can just drive under kinda like a doggy door but the antennas are in danger of being broken. Still think on it though.

You would have to turn off obstacle avoidance in that pathway for sure. If it’s part of an area, then gentle contact would let it work.

Wouldn’t a no-visoon zone accomplish the same thing?

Yes, that would also work!

Hello,I’ve discussed with our product team about this feature. We do have plan to develop this in the future while we have no clear timeline for this yet.
