Pulley and belt cover 2

Very early prototype to help prevent dirt related wear on pulleys and belt.

BTW. I have 2 x 2 mulching discs available $100 USD.

Getting closer. Time to put it on the core and give it a spin.

I’m thinking about a soft cover for the motor pulley. Too many wires to incorporate it into the hard cover. Thoughts?

I didn’t have any clearish plastic as was previously suggested.

You plan on covering this gear at all? I think it would be good, but leave a water weeping hole(s) and angle it down for drainage. I think a soft cover would be cool, but will it retain heat?

The soft cover I am imagining would be around the motor mount, not the motor itself. I will look at that other gear after I see if the blower will still mount on the core. It should but shit happens :winking_face_with_tongue:

Okay two things went wrong. The bottom of the cover slightly contacted the core frame. Easily corrected, I cut it off. Now I have a drain . There is a rounded cut out, for the pulley in the core frame, that could be enlarged but don’t want to modify it.

Second issue is I didn’t leave enough clearance. It rubbed against cover. So back to the drawing board.

New print with open bottom for drainage but mostly for core frame clearance and a wider belt “ mouth “ so no rubbing. I am putting hooks on the mouth and a soft cover around the motor mount. STL file available upon request.

Has anyone considered putting a bearing on the motor shaft between the motor and the pulley. Might help keep the motor shaft for moving up and down screwing up alignment.

That wine for the Yarbo too? :joy:

Haven’t you noticed alcohol makes everything run smoother

Now all it needs is some cheese for that track gear whine and it’s all set! :joy:

A nice blue :winking_face_with_tongue:

LOL. Nice. Well played sir.
