Not really sure what you can call My Grass the ground layer is clay Mud the grassy Layer more weed crap grass Messy I would call PIA Grass ( Pain in The A ) grass It needs a robust rotary Blade razor Blades would just get wreck mowing this I think I’ll be passing on current Yarbo mower Generation Maybe in the Future when a Rotary Mower deck Module can be built maybe that will work.

My maiden voyage was not totally successful Yarbo would not traverse the small slope I had mapped out. I am wondering if the snowblower tracks minus the studs is required for my yard. IMG_1084.MOV - Google Drive

The winter tracks without the metal studs can add some extra friction, which may help prevent the rover from slipping. You can try using the winter tracks to see if it helps with traction. However, please note that winter tracks may not be as gentle on the lawn as the summer tracks and could potentially have more impact on the grass. So, if you choose to use the winter tracks, please keep an eye on the health of your lawn.

How steep is the slope? My yard is fairly steep in lots of places and it doesn’t have issues traversing the slopes.

I have a sloped irregular lawn. My biggest issue is mapping because the irregular shape and many no go zones make it hard to map all in one go. I took a tip from a beta tester and mapped in sections which worked great, however I intermittently have issues with the overlapping areas. If Yarbo gets hung up or stopped in an overlap, it ‘breaks’ the plan and I have a hard time getting plans completed.

Does any one have any tips or tricks?

Try driving the rover outside of the overlap before hitting resume. This may be a good work around. However, my best suggestion would be to start your plan and set it to start at the percentage before where you have an issue. Go into diagnostics and scroll to the bottom and enable “issue record” and note the time. Then start your plan at just before the break point. Do something to get it to pause in the overlap and “break the plan”. Take video and screenshots and submit all of it including the issue record (with your timezone and date) win the ticket so that they can evaluate the issue and bug fix it.

I’m trying to relate the mower height settings to my Ferris zero turn mower height settings. Do they relate? I started at 3.5 now at 3.2 working my way down. I still don’t see it cutting like I think it should be.

if your grass is shorter than the set cutting height this could explain it. Also if your grass exceeds the cutting height in excess it may not do as clean a cut, but this can generally be cleaned up with a second pass at a 90 degree angle or through multiple passes if you don’t want to change the angle.

Someone else noted that your regular mower probably has a high vacuum deck (which is typical) so it’s sucking the grass up straight before it cuts. Yarbo isn’t a high vacuum deck so you’ll have to cut lower than you typically cut with a mower like your Ferris to get the same results.

Or just vary the angle of the cut at least 45-90 degrees and cut multiple times as is recommended anyways.
