Snowblower belt misalignment

Probably trying to figure out if it is indeed the shim missing or something else.

Is this Aluminum Alloy? Seems so weak….. Hope Yarbo use better quality of rubber and metal components…

It appears to be an aluminum alloy. If properly aligned it probably would be fine. Unfortunately some seem to become misaligned during normal operation.

The motor mount on inspection had deep imprints from the securing bolts. Definitely seemed to hold it tight to the frame but made me wonder if it is too soft to take the torque.

Yep, that’s the issue.. and that’s the quality matter or they didn’t design ‘enough’ safety factor for the torque during normal operation. Among Aluminum Alloy, if you go cheap, the quality would be low.

Hi there, you can also submit a support ticket along with a video showing the noise. That way, our support team can help diagnose whether there’s an issue and guide you accordingly.

Update on my snowblower situation.

As requested, I reassembled the belt and pulley assembly. No play or looseness in any parts.

After hand turning the auger a bit, the belt pretty much immediately started moving to a misaligned position where it will start rubbing against the edge of the pulleys again.

Wonder if you could use a washer or something as a shim and see if it lets it ride more centered?

Yep. That’s exactly what I think it needs. BUT since this is a warranty issue, I’ll let Yarbo come up with what they think is a proper fix.

I think you could certainly do that as a test (spin it by hand) without voiding any warranty.

That’s true. Good point. Guess I’ll be doing some experimentation….
