Thank you very much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback after the firmware update — we really appreciate it.
For the first two issues you mentioned regarding SmartVision performance and camera disconnection alerts, I’ve reflected to our product team.
Regarding the third issue about intermittent docking and charging, this may require further investigation to determine the root cause. You can submit a support ticket about this.
As for the fourth point, we did introduce some optimizations to the snow-throwing direction logic in this update. As a result, the unit may occasionally pause to adjust the snow chute direction. This behavior is intended to prevent Yarbo from throwing snow into undesired areas.
For the frequent overcurrent alerts, please also include this information in the same support ticket so the team can evaluate it together with the other symptoms.
Thanks again for your thorough feedback — it’s very helpful for improving the system.
Thank you for sharing your feedback as well.
As mentioned above, the auger stopping behavior you observed may be related to the snow-throwing direction logic adjustments introduced in this firmware update. When needed, the machine may briefly pause to adjust the snow chute angle, which can result in the auger stopping temporarily before operation resumes.
We appreciate you taking the time to report your experience.
can you upload that design to thingiverse or some other model service?
I am interested if Yarbo has considered a recall in SB due to the increased prevalence of this issue. The response has been slow.
My plan is at least remove other shearbolt and try that can I use blower without it. Anyway they really need start sell those belts as spare part. At least I want one spare belt just in case because I dont want take risk that belt blow up just when there is heavy snow fall
Yarbo should either include or sell a “spare parts kit” with all the likely wear items (shear bolts, belts, antenna/antenna mount, lube, wheels, etc) All of these parts put together would likely cost less than $100 but provide tremendous value/good will.
@bdoherty103 sign me up for one of these as well, if you’re willing to print them.
I would be interested in purchasing this as well.
To add to your experience. I believe I am having this same issue. Cameras aren’t synced. Audio is delayed. Pixelated cameras quite often. Had a bright wash of white distortion half way through a Plan today. Looked kinda like a white photo negative. Front camera takes a long time to load when switch between maps and cameras. All cameras will freeze for 5-8 seconds at a time while watching Smart Vision and will eventually restore.
** This is a new S1 unit
Hi Ben, sorry for the inconvenience you’re experiencing. If you encounter this issue again, please feel free to submit a support ticket so our team can investigate further and assist you. Thank you for letting us know.
Thanks @Yarbo-Forum just did.
Just curious to see what the outcome is. Seems others may be experiencing this as well.
@bdoherty103 I am also interested in one of these grommets. I was experiencing intermittent issues with my snowblower, including constant pauses while it waited for the chute to be in the correct position and camera disconnect errors over the weekend as well as intermittent charging issues. I improvised a grommet to secure the cable, and then I took the snowblower out for a test run. To my surprise, all the errors disappeared. There were no long pauses when it tried to turn, all the cameras were functioning correctly, and there were no charging issues. Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention!
This was just posted to the Wiki this morning. I believe this is the official fix from Yarbo on this particular issue.
I am not having the module disconnecting issue(yet, but the way things are going it will happen)
But my Yarbo is basically unusable right now. Constantly stopping, stating “waiting for the augers to get up to speed”, but then just sits there beeping. Never continuing. I can pause the plan, take control(auger will not turn on) and send it back to recharge. The auger will start working again, but only temporarily.
Then this morning we started to get the over current issue with 3in of fluffy snow.
I have a support ticket in, but this is getting ridiculous! Every storm it is something with it. Last storm is was loss of GPS signal randomly. No trees blocking anywhere. Storm before that was network issues. Had to reboot the data center and the. The yarbo(by hand in the middle of 8in of snow).
When it works it is great, but it might too much trouble for its own good.
My snowblower module had the exact same issue around a month ago. Yarbo ended up replacing it.
But at that time, the m25 issue wasn’t yet understood. In hindsight I think that is what my problem was. And probably yours too.
I hope Support is able to quickly get you back up and running. Feel free to mention that I had the same issue. Maybe they can review their notes about my snowblower to speed up getting yours resolved.
I agree with @rgloverii it’s probably the M25 connection. The beeping generally indicates an overcurrent has been tripped. You have to shutdown to reset that. How we’ve if your connections are interrupted, it could be why it’s tripping. ALS support to send you these springs.
Ok so you guys are saying my issue is the connection between the rover and the module. I just need these tiny springs that will probably take 3 weeks to get to me. At least(I hope) it is an easy fix. Already on my 2nd rover. Reprogramming my yard and driveway is just a HUGE PITA!
In the mean time, you can likely experiment with spraying dielectric cleaning spray in the connectors. The problem seems to stem from intermittent contact between the pins in the connector.
Personally, I wouldn’t sit idle while waiting for the springs. Odds are, if the connector really is at fault, you can get yourself back up and running while you wait.
Good luck! Let us know what you find out and what the final resolution is.
Correct. Like Robert suggested, a few have had success with dielectric grease or any type of electronics anti corrosion. Another here in the forum has made a cable strain relief and support it with success. Do whatever you need to do until support can get you taken care of.
