Yeah you’d just be able to abandon the outer loop if needed until you could fix it manually or something.
I guess it depends on how long your snow sticks around. Where I am, it’s gone in a day or two usually. But in more northern climates, you could have a wall before you know it for months. But yeah, I see what you mean. Abandon the outer loop(s) until you can’t. This assumes you can even do outer loops.
I still can’t figure out what is the purpose of not having module specific maps. So I got B1 first. So if I map with B1 that map would be specific to that module. The reason I say that is I was instructed to map with the module you use. So if it the software doesn’t take into account the module dimensions attached why are we scrambling to be monogamous to 1 map and pretending 1 map is the solution? Seems like you should never use MP module when I originally mapped with B1.
I should have:
B1 Map
M1/MP Map
S1 Map
Probably a MP + Trimmer Map as well when it comes
Seems like we all should have as many maps as modules. I shouldn’t be able to see anything I mapped that wasn’t mapped by the module attached.
The maps have to be universal and the ability to filter and exclude/ignore non attached module map inputs/ layers or be module specific. Pick one. What are the other options?
I’d rather just have one map and it knows the dimensions of each module and attachments and does the math appropriately. I want to use the B1 on my driveway as an example. It also can be used on my lawn. The SAM could be used on any of my maps. I do think those with complex situations should be able to disappear those areas and map elements like pathways, etc if they so choose. I just don’t see an issue for my yard, short of a pathway across the lawn for the snow blower to get to the driveway. If that could be a sidewalk and it disappeared when the snow blower wasn’t attached, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings. But I’m still of the mind that I’d like to be able to access all modules settings, etc at all times. Filtering would be an absolute requirement if that was possible.
I’d love a universal map. It just doesn’t seem like that’s the foundation of the software. As a user.
I like the sounds of “the module will prefer navigating/areas of those tagged with the module type” hopefully the standard map view will also filter based on those and then when you go into edit mode the areas without the module tag that you currently have are just lighter colored like disabled no-go zones👍, and then you can also filter them off when editing if needed
Not sure it’s going to be there immediately, but hopefully that is the end goal.
I don’t think there would ever be a reliable way for me to have one universal map and have the dimensions automatically adjust. Nor do I think I would want that.
Why do I say that? I mapped areas specifically for the mower. My leaf blower’s areas are similar BUT DIFFERENT. I wouldn’t want to re-use the same areas for the leaf blower. For me at least, the perimeters aren’t the same, and neither are the actual areas themselves.
I also created leaf blowing areas for my driveway that are totally different than what I need for snow blowing.
I think the best solution is filtering & optionally allowing areas, pathways, etc. to be used with different modules if desired.
Agreed. Best of both worlds. Having the options opens up a lot of possibilities for creative uses too.
