Please add an option for a 2nd perimeter pass for the Snowblower. Make the 1st pass, 1 pass inside the perimeter and the 2nd pass all the way out. This will open up the edges for Yarbo to turn better when it’s doing the back and forth passes and the outmost perimeter pass. Also an option for a perimeter cleanup pass at the end.
Also the back and forth passes need to overlap with the 2 outer ones to utilize the space to turn without pushing snow, slipping tracks on uneven gravel drives where we already have to leave an 1” so it’s slicker, deeper snow and setting head down on piles of snow lifting the track off the ground. This will help with sloped drives also.
Yarbo is very capable, much more capable than it is currently, but in these tougher situations we need to give it the best shot it has to succeed. It needs to open up a large enough area before it turns 30 Deg or more so it can easily and cleanly make the turn. There has to be a better way.
Thanks for your suggestion! I’ve passed it along to our product team for evaluation. We really appreciate you taking the time to share detailed feedback.
You nailed it! I live in the country, I have experienced all of the above. I usually send the yarbo back to start the plan again to do a second perimeter pass, but it is a pain to do it this way, an option to select is easy.
Not sure why they don’t see these issues in their testing lab. Seems so easy to fix. I was really hoping that this season of snow was going to be better, but it seems they just forgot to do any updates, or very minimal updates at best.
Don’t even get me started on the chute issues…… There is no excuse that that mess keeps coming up, over and over again.
I suggested it a year ago at some of the Yarbo live last winter in China. Much better to turn around where the snow has been cleared. Just haven’t seen any improvements yet.
For troublesome Areas I sometimes put a Sidewalk around the perimeter to pre-clear some snow. I had a Sidewalk at one point that would do a one-way around the Area and not return back, but that map is long gone. That worked well.
In addition to cleanup using multiple perimeter sweeps, wherever the Yarbo snowblower does its turns, such as when it approaches a No-go Zone boundary or an Area boundary, it often leaves little piles of snow. A “clean up where I turned around” option would be fantastic. I’m doing it with a shovel for now. Eventually I’ll work out where all those spots are and put in Sidewalks to do the cleaning, so there’s a workaround anyway.
I just don’t trust sidewalks yet. At least the way that will require me to use them. They seem unpredictable the way I need to use them. Running reverse. Jumping onto another sidewalk next to it or using an underlying pathway vs the sidewalk mapped on top and selected on the plan.
