Trimmer and edging

Can the trimmer do vertical-style edging? For example, cut grass vertically along a boundary between lawn and concrete walkway or driveway? I currently perform this task with an electric weed eater by flipping it “upside down” so that the string cutting plane is vertical. It’s a common technique landscapers use to perform edging with a weed eater, instead of using a proper edging machine. Can Yarbo do this?

Precision isn’t even close enough for this to work, even if you were able to flip it in that direction, you would never be able to go along the exact path each time like you do with a handheld trimmer.

Good point! Bummer.

I don’t think the trimmer can rotate but they did have an imaginary edger listed on their website at one point. I couldn’t find any reference to it in the Yarbo store anymore. Did they stop development on it? Who knows!

Makes me curious what the precision specs are for Yarbo’s positioning. RTK GNSS, generally speaking, claims sub-centimeter range.

They delayed it indefinitely. Not canceled, but not on current road map either.

the trimmer can tilt up for maintenance but is not made to operate tilted up.

Currently 4”… on a good day.

Thanks for sharing your question! Unfortunately, our trimmer is not designed for vertical-style edging. We appreciate your understanding.
