Since the Yarbo app displays the map. Why can’t it also store a copy for upload/download?
There is a Previous Maps option under Settings that automatically backs up the last map change. You can also manually back up 10 maps. You can’t download and save them outside the app tbough.
Cloud storage has been the discussion from one of the co-founders as to where they are likely headed to back up maps. AFAIK there is no release date for this. Right now all maps and backups of the maps are stored on the core. App storage would be nice though.
I’d rather see the back and restore option be to the app. I’m not much of a cloud guy. When the company that owns the cloud goes away so does the cloud.
As some of our enthusiastic community members have mentioned, you can now save your map locally. For more details on how this works, please refer to the post Firmware 3.9.10 & App 3.15.3 – Feature Highlights - Yarbo Official / Updates & Product Releases - Yarbo Forum
At the moment, cloud storage is not yet supported, but we appreciate your feedback and interest — it’s something we’re continuing to evaluate for the future.
@Yarbo-Forum - When you say saved “in the App,” it’s literally on your phone or tablet, not in the rover? So if I go to another phone and run the App, it will show a different list of backups?
(Folks (new folks especially): FYI - In the release notes, Yarbo does list what’s saved, and it’s largely the map stuff – no Work Plans, Schedules, Settings, etc. My plan was to save off my snowblower map, erase everything, and make a mower map, save that off, then swap in my snowblower map. That’s not how this works - Settings and Work Plans are an important part of what you’re doing, but you can’t save/restore those. So if you have a combo mower/snowblower map with Area overlaps as I do, you’ll notice that you cannot fully edit your map anymore, as things like Pathways work unpredictably in Area overlaps. Yarbo was looking into a solution for this and put out the idea of letting Pathways work with whatever Area is on top of them and adding filtering to maps, but I haven’t seen an update on that.)
Sorry for the confusion. To clarify, the maps are stored locally on the rover, not on the phone or tablet. I’ve updated the release notes to provide clearer guidance on this.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
