Firmware 3.9.10 & App 3.15.3 – Feature Highlights

1. Waypoint Navigation for SAM (Smart Assist Module)

The Smart Assist Module now supports Waypoint Navigation, allowing you to send your Yarbo to specific locations within your mapped areas with a single tap.

How to Use Waypoint Navigation:

  1. Go to the “My Yard” page and tap the navigation icon on the right to start selecting your waypoints.

  1. Tap on your mapped areas to set the waypoints. You can set either a single waypoint or multiple ones. If you set multiple waypoints, Yarbo will follow them in the order you set.
  2. Tap “Start” to begin waypoint navigation:
  • If you set one waypoint, Yarbo will travel to that location and stop.
  • If you set multiple waypoints, Yarbo will follow them in the sequence you defined and stop at the final waypoint.

Note: Yarbo will not stop at intermediate waypoints.

  1. During the navigation process, you can pause and resume navigation at any time.

2. New Features for the Blower

2.1 Reverse Blowing (Beta)

The Reverse Blowing feature (Beta) is now available for the blower module!

To enable or disable it, go to: Area Settings > Advanced Settings > Reverse Blowing (Beta)

:warning: Note: Obstacle detection is currently not supported during reverse blowing. Please inspect the area beforehand to ensure the blower does not collide with any objects while reversing.

2.2 Follow me mode

Designed for convenience when using the extended air tube, this mode allows the blower to automatically follow you during operation — making leaf clearing easier and more efficient. Choose from three adjustable blowing speeds to suit your specific needs.

3. New Features for the Lawn Mower

3.1 Obstacle Avoidance (Beta) on Pathways (For Lawn Mower)

The lawn mower can now detect vehicles on pathways to enhance operational safety.

When a vehicle is detected on a pathway, the mower will automatically return to the docking station. If it encounters another vehicle during this return process, it will stop immediately and the app will notify you.

To enable or disable this feature, go to: Pathway Settings > Obstacle Avoidance (Beta) (enabled by default)

With this enhancement, your Yarbo lawn mower can navigate pathways more safely and intelligently.

3.2 Edge Priority Settings for Lawn Mower

To better customize the mowing route for your lawn, you can now choose whether the mower should mow the edge of the “Area First” or the “No-Go Zone First.”
Simply navigate to: Area Settings > Advanced Settings > Edge Priority Setting and select your preferred option. This gives you greater control over how your lawn is maintained.

3.3 Rain Sensitivity

With Rain Detection enabled, you can now adjust the rain sensitivity to customize the specific value that your Yarbo stops working and returns to the docking station.

4. App updates and others

4.1 Map Saving

You can now manually save maps within the app, with support for up to 10 maps in total:

  • 9 manually saved maps
  • 1 automatically saved map (which always reflects the most recent version)

When you save a map, the following elements are preserved: Areas, sidewalks, no-go zones, pathways, docking stations, no-vision zones, dead ends, geo-fences, and patrol lines.

Any time you edit your map, the system will automatically update the auto-saved version to reflect the latest changes.

To manually save a map, go to: Yarbo Settings > Previous Map > Save Current Map

4.2 Firmware Update Optimization

After this update, you will have three options for updating your firmware going forward:

  • Update Now
  • Update Later
  • Update at Night (between 2:00 AM – 5:00 AM)

These options give you greater flexibility to choose the most convenient time for updates.

You’ll receive a notification when a new firmware update is available. If you choose Update Later, you can manually set your preferred update time by going to: Yarbo Settings > Version Information >Firmware Version

Additionally, detailed information about the latest firmware version will be available on the Version Info page, so you can review what’s new before updating.

4.3 Access the Yarbo Forum in the App

You can now access the Yarbo Forum directly through the Yarbo App!

Simply navigate to the Profile page, where you’ll find a link to the forum.

Log in using your Yarbo account for a seamless experience. Join the community to explore open discussions, share feedback, and gain helpful insights from other users.

4.4 Replacing the SIM Card with Your Own

The SIM card is installed inside the rover, located within the battery storage compartment. Currently, we provide 2GB of free data per month. However, if you rely heavily on 4G service and prefer to use your own SIM card, you can replace the pre-installed one.

Refer to the image below to find the SIM card location:

Can some give me the proper full reset procedure. My unit bricked again while in the middle of a mow. 2nd time for me. Just my luck the 4.2 section of the update would prevented both of these events as the data center and core become unable to communicate with mismatched firmware

hmm they haven’t updated the DC firmware in a long time. V1.0.25 is the current version and older versions will still function and power HaLow. RTK might have an issue, but doubtful.

What is it doing? Flashing rainbow lights or just lights like normal but no communications? The best way to reset everything is to pull power to the DC and the battery cable on the rover. Leave both disconnected for 5 mins. Then, power up the data center. Make sure its firmware is up to date before you pull power the first time. Then when the DC is solid green, power up the rover. If you still can’t connect open a ticket with support. It’s possible they can remotely connect.

Been there done that with battery and the activate button. I definitely got the app notification of update last night. Seen all sorts of lights at various times. Definitely had the rotating rainbow at some point. Have held the activate button through various cycles, even had it say read to work a couple times but nothing will connect not even physical controller. Last time I had to reset it but I just held reset for a long time not knowing how long. Then had to start over with everything but it connected again.

I’m really sorry for the inconvenience caused by this issue. After consulting with our tech experts, it seems this could be caused by a few different factors, so further investigation will be needed. I’ve reviewed your support ticket and noticed you’ve scheduled a meeting. Apologies for the limited available time slots, but I will make sure to reflect this to the relevant team. I hope the meeting will help resolve the issue. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

I am in the hole in a major way on time spent doing yarbo work. You can talk to your social media manager about not deleting honest user experiences. It would have been helpful to know I was purchasing a beta testing headache. I’ve been a happy beta tester many times when it was an informed choice. This was sold as the opposite, a time saver. Shameful tactics on your social media.

Finished my 4:30am meeting. Glad I took the earliest spot. I’m in another queue, for a new core.
“Non cummunicative brick mode” unlocked.

As new users I had used my post limit and had to wait several hours to send this.

When I find the time I’ll be recording a time lapses of me mowing around my dead machine. #MyYarboStory

Curious if they are going to delete my forum posts like their social media managers do to the comments from real user experiences.

Told the engineer i understand beta testing, but that’s not what I was sold. Told him I believed in their product and excited for it’s future but the lack of honesty about where they were is disappointing. I would have postponed purchase and hired a company for this season. I was buying my time back. They know at their price point we can afford a service.

Having had my honest experience deleted from their socials repeatedly is shameful. I’m sharing information I would have valued reading when I was considering purchase. Let my experience get lost in a sea of positive ones if that’s the case.

A cover up is often worse than the crime.

I reminded the engineer and now here to whoever runs this official account:

Steve Jobs shipped iPhones that couldn’t make a phone call if you held it.

He didn’t hide. He owned it. He had the confidence to know they’d move past it but needed to be honest to gain the public trust back.

Yarbo has lots of potential, but lots of growing pains haven’t been worked out. Offer discounts for if you need more iteration to work out the kinks. It’s shameful to hide this truth reported by real users on socials.

My once curious and fascinated neighbors will be certainly rethinking any purchase while it sits dead for days in a half mowed lawn.

I’ll be checking the comments on socials to see if they continue to remove an honest experience and assessment.

Based on my experience I would not recommend this product in current form for someone who is busy and wants to reduce the hours they spend keeping up the yard.

I would have gladly paid a service this year instead. But now none of the services that work my neighborhood will touch me having seen the robot work at one point. I’m sure most are fully booked and few are looking to pick up a temporary gig.

I have a toddler and a pregnant wife. I didn’t have time to replace much less exceed yard care time with Yarbo care time.

Really hope a new core with the latest firmware solves it, but I’ll be documenting my yarbo managed, half cut lawn the days I have to wait. I hope my yarbo story will be a great turnaround. If it’s not, a delete happy social media manager won’t stop it from spreading. Others short on time considering the product deserve fair warning.
