In a number of cases I have zones I group together for a days mowing. It would be nice to be able to specify a recharge point in the workplan so that a larger zone would be more complete. e.g., If there are 4 zones in a workplan, be able to say do zone 1, 2, 3, then recharge (and be great to even specify a recharge amount), then do zone 4.
So if it leaves in the morning with 100% charge and doing zone 1, 2, 3 takes 60% of a charge and zone 4 takes 60% of a charge it would effectively mow zones 1-3 down to 40%, return to recharge to 80%, then do zone 4 and return home at 40%.
The current behavior would do zone 1-3, then do 1/3 of zone 4, return home to charge, then do the remaining 2/3’s of zone 4 ending with about 60%. That leaves zone 4 partially complete for a few hours and if anything happens (rain, etc…) it could be leave it partially done for awhile.
I like the idea of telling the rover to go recharge as an item in a Work Plan. Maybe there can be something in the Area list called “Recharge” where it’ll tell the rover to go to the Docking Station and charge to the 80%, and you can include that in your Work Plan where you need it.
We understand the need to control recharge timing in a work plan, especially to avoid leaving zones partially mowed. Your idea of setting a recharge point and target charge level makes a lot of sense for larger mowing tasks.
