So pithy, I am so humbled by your wisdom in your post.
Hi @mike1 (and in response to @dhallman)
Iām truly sorry to hear about the confusion this thread is causing with its absurd statements. I completely understand how frustrating this must be, and I want to assure you that Iām committed to get some form of sense in the forum.
Regarding your concern about my own overly optimistic post. Yes, that deserved a /s, but I was hoping to get some positive out-of-touch-with-reality response from Yarbo to show how disconnected this forum really is. It worked!
Based on this forumās other posts Iām also lost where people arenāt adding the /s and where people actually believe what theyāre writing is a good representation of reality. Yarbo doesnāt execute the basic tasks we were promised it would execute, and it exploits the drawbacks of the tracked system to the fullest extent. To match the cultural vibe of the forum, Iāll also state that Yarbo is an amazing system and we should still be happy to pay in order to test-drive it whilst the competition has the navigation sorted out! Please rest assured that Iām continually working to help get the message spread.
Iād be tired too to elaborate on the absurdity. What Iād aim to voice regarding iRobot vs Yarbo is that both had their drawbacks pointed out up front. Roomba had a very little suction versus a regular vacuum and it took an idiotic route. These things were known up front, and iRobot countered indicating that it would get the job done but just at a much slower pace. That was largely true. Similarly, Yarboās flaws were pointed out too: the tracks would destroy the lawn and that relying on GPS would be bad around trees. Yarbo countered that they have careful routing and gently turning on the lawn so the lawn would stay fresh. Thatās not how Yarbo behaves. GPS inaccuracy Yarbo was countered with centimeter-level accuracy for the GPS and advanced AI vision to detect obstacles and to find its way. Thatās not how Yarbo behaves. The GPS is 10cm accurate perhaps and the AI vision is either blind or itās evading ghosts. It does not work. For a product claiming to revolutionize yard care, itās fair to expect something as good or better than what exists today. Both good GPS positioning as well as vision based mowing exists. Yarbo does not cut that. Hah, ācutā, thatās another positive note to end this paragraph with so it matches the awesome forum vibe.
I sincerely hope your experience on the forum will be much more grounded in reality moving forward, and I truly appreciate you commenting on the absurdity of these posts. This is the only way in which the message could get through. Thank you!
