Allow perimeter only mows (no center)

I have some fields that I do not mow with yarbo, however I like to keep a 4-8’ strip next to the fences mowed down. I would like to suggest a feature of allowing to map a perimeter, and then only do X number of perimeters along that map but without the inside area.

Thank you for sharing your feedback—I completely understand the usefulness of this feature for your situation. If we see more interest from other users as well, I’ll be happy to pass this suggestion along to our product team for consideration. We really appreciate your input!

work around manual hack is to set up the work area to do perimeter 2nd, and the area first. Then manually start the area and use the % complete slider to start the job at the rough percentage where the perimeter starts.

It will do the laps and be done. Won’t help if you want this scheduled unless they scheduler allows starting at a given percentage. I have not checked or experimented.

Another workaround is to draw deadens close to your fence. On one go the mower will mow the same path twice

I don’t know about that whole % complete slider. Seems like an odd hack on its own.

You could also mow perimeters first and stop the plan after the perimeter is done. This too requires baby sitting Yarbo.

That would work too. Would need a dozen or so depending on overlap settings.

I would defiantly agree that I would like to independently control:

  1. Mow perimeter
  2. Mow no go zones
  3. Mow center

Couldn’t you accomplish this by mapping the area and then making the center a large no-go zone?

There you go @Wes thinking inside the box.

@Wes - I was thinking of trying the big area with the big No-go Zone in the middle on my road to have the mower mow both sides instead of using Deadends.

That’s a good idea too! That could consolidate a couple of my “narrow” areas.

Yeah. Yarbo “should” mow just the perimeter if you do it right. I just have to build a tank around the rover so the 7 neighbors below me on my private road – who go out at least 200 times a day apiece at top speed and all get 20 deliveries a day – don’t Frogger this thing.

I plan to have the No-go Zone extend to the edge closest to the main road so the rover doesn’t cross there, so I’ll wind up with a “C” shape.

Sounds like it’d work, but I’ll probably just break out the riding mower. It is kinda dangerous for the little guy.

Are you familiar with the % slider im talking about? It is a super useful along with the preview button, even just for getting an idea of how yarbo will do a complex area when there are lines everywhere.

Yeah I’ve played with it. It’s a little slow to generate the preview repeatedly while I dial in on the desired start point.
