I would like to request a feature to help out with getting the Yarbo to specific location and call it “Go To Point”. Similar to the “Follow Me’” function, but in reverse. Basically, choose a point on the map screen, long press, and the app drops a marker. A button shows up that says “Go here?” and if you tap the button, the Yarbo will navigate itself to that location. The only other addition I would make, is allow for picking a point outside of currently drawn areas. If a point is inside an area, the Yarbo calculates the path when you click the button, and then goes there. If the point is outside of the currently drawn areas, when you click the button Yarbo finds the area with a boundary closest to the chosen point and marks the point where it will exit the area to approach the chosen point and displays a confirm button. if the operator wants to specify a different exit point on the same or a different boundary, the just have to tap on it and then click confirm.
We’ve been asking for this. Would be really useful.
When they announced “Waypoints” that’s what we hoped it would be. It’s close, but not feature filled, and only works with the SAM module.
New feature, in yarbo fashion it will probably do it in reverse and about 16 zero turns.
Yeah there are many requests for this feature. I posted it only to find there were others also already posted. So indeed highly desired. If you search go to in this forum you will see several requests. One of them have been listed for consideration. I truly hope they do this. I have lots of use cases.
Thanks for sharing this detailed suggestion. We’ve actually received similar feature requests from other users before, and we can certainly see the value of having a “Go To Point” function.
While this feature is not currently on the highest-priority development list, I’ll pass along your feedback and interest to our product team again for consideration. User input like this helps us better understand which features would provide the most value in real-world use.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your idea and the detailed workflow behind it.
