I haven’t hooked up my MP yet (arriving today) But I def tested B1 in my yard. Exhaustively.
I would get about 20% of my yard done on a 100%-20%. Couldn’t use it on high. I assume the MP is gonna be way more battery demanding. Plus the battery temp on the blower would get to +50 no problem. Then it would slow charge for hours waiting to charge. I instead yank the battery and charge it in the garage. Slap in some new go-go juice and get to about 50 % of my yard done before a recharge. But it’s costly for sure.
Yep. The leaf blower really eats through the battery, especially on the highest fan setting.
I found the best approach is to start out at like medium fan, then once it is blowing a large amount of leaves, start to step up the fan speed.
I don’t have the mower pro, but with my standard mower, the battery utilization isn’t even close. When mowing, you easily get hours of runtime between charges. Maybe 3.5 hours per charge??
I can get 4-6 hours of runtime with my pro. 6-7 with M1. Leaf blower is the biggest battery drain followed by the S1.
Not surprising re: leaf blower. I have a Makita handheld battery leaf blower (a human doing the work? For shame) and it gets about 20 minutes of non-continuous blowing per charge.
Mechanical pushing is hard no matter what you do. Saying that, these are lithium ion batteries that have “thousands” of cycles. Yarbo’s battery isn’t as robust on cycling; concern there.
Yeah blowers require a lot of battery/HP to be useful, my 80V Greenworks backpack blower will overheat batteries smaller than 4Ah if you go full out on a hot day. The mower Pro is only 600w peak! It runs a long time! Once they figure out the auxiliary battery pack mount on the back brace mount the blower may be more useful😅
They have a tendency to under spec the engineering capabilities and over spec the marketing capabilities. I think the battery is far more capable than advertised for cycles. At least I hope. Plus you can fake those cycle counts by not fully charging. 20-80% tricks. There are testers still using their 2022 batteries.
Battery ratings are also typically to 80% life…that’s still very usable for many more years after that, basically it’s a rating for expected noticable loss of capacity…well treated batteries can double or triple those numbers
That’s great to know. I assumed the MP was gonna be a boss. That gives me great hope then on runtime.
lol. I must have been thinking about my Luba 2 runtime figures.
Kinda funny - When these things work properly, you don’t really pay attention to how often they charge. You just let them keep the yard nice and tidy while you do more important things.
Placed my order - thanks Ken.
For sure. I watch mine a lot due to testing though. I can usually get my back yard done in one charge. It was very apparent when it didn’t. Been super impressed with the mowing battery performance. The M1P did hit it like 20% though, but to be expected I guess. It’s a beast of a mower. Very powerful.
I’m becoming more and more convinced that I need to upgrade to the Pro mower!
In for a penny in for a pound. They know we are gonna buy every single thing they launch. We are seeing an Apple ecosystem blossom if planted correctly. I want this to around forever. @rgloverii
Great find. Grabbed 2. Great work on this fellas. I’m gonna be a black market store here soon.
I might be in the same boat. Any tutorials out there to diagnose it?
Check your shear pins and make sure they are intact. You should not be able to easily spin the auger by hand, if you can it’s probably a busted shear pin or belt. Check this belt and make sure it’s not broken.
So this thread popped off. That said they did replace my blower module asap so very grateful. But would be brutal if happened while snowing! Got it in time!!
Glad they got you sorted out!
There’s an awful lot of snow in there. I’m guessing that is contacting with the belt. Any idea how that’s getting packed in there?
