After watching my Yarbo snap one RTK antenna on a tree with about 3 minutes left of a 3.5 hour mow and then promptly turn around and break off the other side I thought why in the world are these not bendable / break away. After picking up the pieces I think I understand why they don’t bend… but why…

Alright. Well mine is the 24 model. I had to screw those off the top of the extensions when it came in. So mine are shorter. The threads are still on the base. The top sheared off, barrel is still intact. Should I go ahead and replace just in case? So I have the upgraded ones already?

Sorry I guess I wasn’t too clear. They need to redo the high mount extension to work with the low mount. My guess is Yarbo will ship you the newer RTK mounts as a replacement if yours is damaged. So, totally up to you though. I for one like having spares on hand in case something happens.

As someone that has used RTK for 20 years+, I can say there are flexible antennas. Actually, every one that I have used had one except the Yarbo. The antennas on the Yarbo are powered devices with onboard 20-something-db amplifiers across 3 bands and noise reduction.

I recommended that the antenna be beefier automotive grade thick plastic. The helical design ensures that no matter what angle the rover is in, that it can get a good signal.
