Directives / Commands callable in Work Plan or at a Waypoint

Defined commands / directives for Yarbo to perform as steps in a Work Plan or when arriving at a Waypoint / Map Pin.

Example commands:

  • Recharge
  • Pause
  • Repeat Prior Item
  • Send Notification
  • Temporarily Change Setting
  • Enable/disable No-go Zone
  • Call Home Automation API :asterisk:
  • Call exposed API (Yarbo API routine) :asterisk:

…there are probably more ideas.

These commands could be added as steps in Work Plans or attached to a map pin or Waypoint, executed when the rover arrives at that spot during operation.

Recharge: Go recharge at this Work Plan step or when reaching a Waypoint, resume the Work Plan when charging reaches the specified charge level.

Pause: Same as hitting the pause button. Also send a notification. Allows someone to go open a gate or to move Cousin Eddie, his cooler, and his lounge chair to a spot that’s already been mowed, for example.

Repeat Prior Item: Can automate Target Height by running the same Area several times, as the snowblower can already do (you can snowblow twice at different bucket heights). Could also use to do the two mows needed for Checkerboard. This would be defined in the Work Plan.

Send Notification: Send a message as a step in a Work Plan or at a Waypoint.

Change Setting: Change the Work Area or Work Preference setting at a Waypoint (temporarily until set again or until the end of the work). See "No Vision Zone" enhancement.

Enable/disable No-go Zone: As part of a Work Plan, have a directive that instructions particular No-go Zones to turn ON/OFF. May help address: Apply overlay to add no go zones to an area that isn't permeant - #3 by Yarbo-Forum

API items: Allow for flexible API calls as steps in a Work Plan or at Waypoints (would probably also have callbacks at the start and end of Work Plan steps as well) – all future stuff for Home Automation :asterisk:

:asterisk: - not currently available, possible future capabilities

Thank you for sharing these thoughtful ideas! They bring up some interesting possibilities, and I’ll be sure to share them with our product team for consideration—especially if more users show interest in this kind of feature.
