I figured after a certain time or number of posts, that I’d be able to post without mod approval. Is that not a thing here?
I don’t think that’s a thing here. Seems initial posts or new threads require approval. I did end up in a state where a post of mine on an existing thread needed approval but I think that was a glitch.
That’s my experience as well. Initial posts require approval. Replies to existing posts do not. I always search for similar posts before posting a new topic.
I should have clarified that I meant all new posts.
I get the desire to cut down on new account spam, but this sounds like Yarbo wanting to squash various concerns that they might not agree with.
Any chance Yarbo will consider relaxing the new post mod approval requirement?
Some of my new threads weren’t “Yarbo Friendly” yet they were approved. I haven’t heard of anyone’s post not being approved. If one of my posts isn’t approved you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be on her saying so. I’ll cut the new post and paste it into an old thread….
I trust everyone until they give me a reason not to…
With that said, if you ARE approving all posts. Then what’s the point of the approval process?
Exactly!
I’ve had several less than flattering post as well. None were rejected, which is a good trend.
I concur. New threads are delayed (so I guess they are reviewed), but I myself posted very critical posts that were not censored.
Yarbo gets criticized a lot for this censoring on FB. The approvals is literally just to weed out SPAM and derogatory posts. Likely those with foul language. That being said, on all their platforms I’ve seen a lot of very unflattering posts approved. So I think the claims of censorship are either false or fall under malicious, very derogatory, and or profane.
That is probably the case but in a lot of forums those kinds of posts generally get flagged by the community pretty quickly and are taken down.
I have seen some flagged here from time to time.
Mod approval of a new post from an established user doesn’t do anything to reduce that risk. All it does is unnecessarily frustrate the user and add work to the moderator.
I’ve seen at least one of those individuals on the FB uncensored page - pretty aggressive stuff.
The Yarbo Forum welcomes all genuine feedback—both positive and critical. While we do have some moderation rules in place to filter out meaningless content, spam, or derogatory posts, we value open and honest discussion.
That said, I’ve expanded the group of users who can post new topics without moderator approval to include those at Trust Level 2. Thanks for your suggestion, and we appreciate your participation in the community!
FYI, I just created a new post without Mod approval - Confirmed working.
